A “polite” bombing of London! Winston won’t even need to give a speech today.
-
Yeah, I’m currently doing a great SBR campaign ^^
Sent 6 bombers on AA guns ; one has been killed, the 5 others have done a great amount of damage… 10 in total

I know - I’m tracking it :-D
Just compiled my version of stats for this game last night….
Overall, in my assessment, the dice have been very even. They have been even throughout the game, too, so it’s not like one of us got early luck and the other got late luck.I wanted to complain after getting hit 2 for 2 with Russia there, but I really can’t.
I’m climbing uphill because you’re a very fundamentally sound player, and because I chose the wrong side, in my opinion. But anyway, it hasn’t been the dice… :-)
Now I ask myself, am I learning anything from this game? Unfortunately I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is not to take the Allies under 13 or 15. :-) -
Unfortunately I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is not to take the Allies under 13 or 15. :-)
 Which I thought I had learned a dozen times over last year. My bidding was influenced by the way two different players performed against me recently with the Allies…. Made me think they’re not so weak.
-
Honestly, I believe that starting at 9, the Allies have a very decent chance.
If I had to give numbers, I would say that at the time being, I would perform something like 60-40 as axis wins if I was playing “against myself” with a bid between 3 and 8, and 50-50 with a bid of 9.
But this is mainly because I think I know quite well how to play the axis, whereas I’m still not 100% sure on what is the best allied play.
I played a lot a games as the allies at the beginning I was here, a lot of them with no bid or 3 or less bid, and I won almost all of them, and always in a KJF. But since then, the axis play has been improved around here, and I’m not as confident anymore with the allies ; thus I bid higher.
But from my experience, a very few minor details and the allies can have a very strong situation very fast. Axis really need to respond very well to counter the allies.
Anyway, just my current feelings about the balance ; and my conclusion is that I believe I’m still missing something on allied strategy :)
-
Everybody knows how to play the Axis - it’s very simple. They are set up to steamroll the Allies in 1941.
Allies’ best chance is to get lucky on G1 or J1. If they don’t, they lose. If they lost 13 units to 4 on an attack on R2, they lose. You can take pride in being in control of this game from start to finish. I still think my worst decision was bidding too low.
-
I have some thoughts about this game (and definitely no pride), but I think it’s better to keep them for after the end of the game (and only if you’re interested in of course).
Cheers,
Yoshi

Hehe - I appreciate your tact. I’m sure you do have thoughts, as do I. I’m holding back on many thoughts and comments as well.
I realized this morning that I could also check stats of Axis v. Allies in the tournament. Will be interesting to see what I find. I predict overwhelming number of Axis wins when skill/experience level of players is not completely lopsided.
I have time to move today. Have some big decisions to make again. (After playing Axis so many times, I missed playing the Allies)
-
Almost have the move done…. so much to decide…
-
Take your time, if it’s not for today that will be for tomorrow :)
It’s more than bed time here, and I still have to look at my g40 game tomoroow, so definitely no emergency on my side :)
-
Yeah, I thought you were up really late…
