Be careful with “If a tank wins a battle in Normandy or Holland, can it blitz an area”. Once a unit has fought in the combat phase, it can no longer move in the noncombat phase (planes are the exception). So no double battles. But let’s assume there’s a tank in Normandy at the beginning of your turn.

Answer to your question comes directly from the rulebook, page 15.

“A tank (or mechanized infantry) that encounters enemy units, including AAA (antiaircraft artillery) units, or an industrial complex, air base, or naval base, in the first territory it enters must stop there and may not blitz.”.

So in your case there would be 3 reasons you cannot blitz through Paris: there is an AAA, there is an industrial complex, and there is an airbase.

I assume the German player will destroy the French DD and CA in SZ91 on their first turn.  The UK could make an ill advised attack on the Italian fleet, and might not destroy anything(flip the BB?) and in return lose a FTR and a TAC.

I can see Wolfpacks becoming more prominent in A&A E40’, rather than just a few lone submarines racing through convoy boxes in the Atlantic.

Well at Harris Game Design forum, Larry said that US ships will be able to reach iceland in one turn, and then move to England the next turn.  He also said this island will start with an airbase.  So we can expect allied transport will transit via the sea zone adjacent to Iceland and they will keep some destroyers there and a bunch of aircraf for scrambling.  It would still represent a diversion of ressources… Also, with the US not starting at war, Germany migh be able to take control of that corridor for a while.

Convoy disruption will probably happen more  in the southern atlantic costal sea zones, to cut off IPCs from Africa and South America.
