How to print Historic House Rules ?

dezrtfish, the only reason I said “not down” was mainly the fact that I, personally, have been unable to find any information about Ranger assalts that started above the enemy.  But, thats my two cents worth.

We have since incorporated your changes to air combat and anti-aircraft units and fire. I generally like your ideas in the HHR. How do you calculate the points values?

Covering Fire: Is only allowed if the attacking unit (BAR or Bren) is not disrupted.

I think I prefer recosting or banning over changing abilities. It makes the record keeping easier.

For example a standard British Rifle Platoon for 25 points gets you a Vickers MG, a Bren, and 4 SMLEs while a 25 point German Rifle Platoon is an MG 42, Light Mortar, and 4x Mauser. There’s no choice of using just all MG42s, etc. You may even have to use units you wouldn’t normally - like the Light Mortar in the German’s Rifle Platoon.

Since there are so many, and they change over time (eg 1943 and after one of those SMLEs would be replaced with a PIAT, or pre-1942 the MG 42 would be 2x Wehrmacht Veteran Infantrymen) I haven’t made a complete list yet. It’s on the ToDoList, which is always getting bigger  :wink:

Also, I just thought of this one today. How about this …

Heroes can only spawn after being hit by an enemy unit or successfully hitting an enemy target.

Welcome to the new forum for use with the Rommel’s Brigades Rules.

This forum is going to be the official Q&A area for questions on the new Advanced rules, as well as the new community site for people who want more information and updates on the game.

As most of you know AAM is a great system, but with many broken rules and abilities. In order to rectify the problems I have taken my own miniatures rules and converted them to make a better game, which can be used with the AAM units if you wish a more advanced and detailed system to play with.

Rommel’s Brigades is an open and more historical set of rules, with more common sense approach to using 1/144 scale WWII miniatures sets.

Over the coming days I will put up links to the new maps, rules, counters and brigade cards so that people can access and download them. The base website and the Mirror for it are below. Check back next week and you will find much that is new and interesting there.

Good suggestion, but to balance your rule I suggest that

On a roll of of 1 to 3, the player who owns the paratrooper chooses in which he wants the unit to land, consistent with the rules as printed on the stat card.

On a roll of 4 to 6, you would roll two more dice as you are suggesting.

one thing we did was make three different groups. instead of solders and armor, we have a separate vehicles deal. they pretty much have a lot lower armor than they do on the stat cards. we are also working on the whole artillery deal, either land based or naval based. also, air strikes, nothing like having a stuka come down and waste some guys. when we work out the kinks ill post the whole thing on here.
