Thank you! I just wanted to let you know of my progress. I certainly tried to do all of that in earlier games, but for one reason or another, it didn’t work well enough to net an Axis win.
Matching part colors?

Do the Russian parts in Europe 1940 (1st or 2nd edition) match the maroon color of the Russian parts in the 2004 Revised edition? If not, are there any other A&A Russians that do match the Revised edition?
Any help appreciated.

The Maroon color in Revised is pretty much a straight match up to OOB G40. So is the Orange for Japan in your other Topic you posted.
With Revised however there was a lime green color for the UK in some editions and a dark gray for Germany in some versions instead of black.

Hope this helps.

Here’s another link.

If you want HBG Russian pieces that match Revised and G40 you need to buy the “Brown” ones. Their shade of “Maroon” matches the Russian pieces in the 1999 edition of Axis & Allies Europe.

Easy solution: spraypaint.

Thanks so much for the info. It has been extremely helpful.
I do have one additional question now, do any of the HBG greys match the German grey from the original (classic) A&A?
Thanks again.

Yes, you will want Dark Grey. It’s a pretty good match. I have at least one of every battle piece except white and celery green. The site no matter how good the effort, can be hard to match colors. Here’s a link.

This is brilliant. The pieces are reasonable enough, I should just get one of each color for matching purposes.
Thanks for the answer and the idea!
