While I think having cuba be its own power would be cool, it would kind of like having New Zealand be its own power in g40. You would have to wonder how much they really contribute. Maybe you could make it so that the Warsaw Pact can pay to build units to support Castro and the gang in cuba, possibly at higher cost cuz of the blockades and embargoes and stuff, if the Warsaw pact is smart, like they were during the cold war, they’ll buff the hell out of cuba to prevent a traditional land invasion, and nukes aren’t always realistic. If they’re dumb then cuba will just be invaded and it will be an opportunity lost, which absolutely could have happened if the ussr wasn’t paying attention. I’m thinking about alternative rules where one or two players play each Nuetral category so it feels like they’re entities and not roadblocks, but I’ve got a ton of stuff I need to do before then soooooo… The setup for cuba will not change for balancing reasons, it accurately represents their power near it’s height, which was also the time when it was diplomatically plausible for the US to invade. For your expansion however, I recommend cuba starts the game Strict Nuetral with an army of one infantry.
The Great War 1914-1918: Clash of Empires

@Imperious:
Well your getting alot more than 1914. More pieces, more unique sculpts ( like 36 different ones) , much larger map, just alot more stuff. Plus the game is more involved with all the tech changes and rules, but still somewhat simple.
:-D :-D :-D
-
Still if those are the only reasons then the price would be 100 bucks not 120.
-
What’s 20 bucks. I’d pay it . Just from what I’ve seen with pieces it worth extra 20 bucks .
-
Well 1914 is half the price so why not buy that one and a few extra pieces?
-
When i say extra pieces, im talking about different unit types by a factor of over two, Rail guns, Airships, Zeppelins, Storm troopers, Bombers, Destroyers, Entrenched Infantry, Plus three different sculpts for about 6 other units, etc. We don’t do the same sculpt for Tanks, Artillery, Dreadnoughts, Subs, Cruisers, etc.
Plus the map is like 3 times the size of 1914, a mounted map costs money to produce and ship. So i guess the cost should be the same right?
-
Ok, guess it’s worth it, just gotta wait now
-
But your also giving up the African continent, and in A&A 1914 the best bet for the Ottoman Empire is Africa. ( If the CP play it right). Like your adding lots of amazing things but taking away things. (No Africa and less simple).
-
Not all of Africa, besides the Middle East which had alot of warfare compared to all of Africa is featured. The War in Africa was very small in terms of scale, much like how Western States are treated in any Civil War game.
-
True, true, but still I kind of liked the Africa thing, but anyway sorry for bringing up an ‘arguement’, I just wanted reasons. Well hopefully it turns out well. Hope it’s worth the money.
-
In the areas that matter, you get plenty of space for big piles of units.
Also, I already made a Afrika map and special rules which will be a download after the game is released, that you can play on the side ( smaller scale than original map, about 18 x 24) You could blow this up i suspect and make it fit.
-
Ooh now that sounds pretty cool!
-
Well it was going to be a surprise, but you dug it out of me!
-
Haha, sorry. I’m sorry if I was a little rude, I was just needing answers because 120 bucks is a lot in general, I need to make it count :-)
-
yep, but this is one you want to get. Its packed with good stuff!
-
Yep, can’t wait. Thanks for making it.
-
It’s been a while. Do you have release date? Also, does the Africa fit with the Europe part? Are there enough pieces for both? (Will there be extra?)
-
Sorry I meant: Will you sell it blown up a little though?
-
The Afrika Expansion will be free. The map is too scale and would prove to be way too large. Its just a side map about 20 x 24, but you will clearly see the top of africa which corresponds to the actual game map. No release date sorry
-
Ok, that’s fine I guess. Will there be sea on the Africa map? It’s a bummer that there is no release date.
-
Yes with naval units
