I’m sorry. When I posted this poll I had just discovered the forum. I didn’t do much research. In the future, I will make a new poll including all of the Axis and Allies versions.
Axis and Allies music: what songs do you listen to while playing the game?
-
My buddies and I have created a number of playlists to listen to while playing Axis & Allies. We’ve found the harder-edged the music is, the more aggressive the attacks are in the early-going. Here are some of my favorite tracks to kick off the game:
Axis and Allies by Fishhammer
Icky Thump by the White Stripes
Bulls On Parade by Rage Against the Machine
Cochise by Audioslave -
The first one is appropriate - though not along the lines of the hardcore that you’ve listed. I had the 45 inch vinyl when I was kid, played the hell out of it. :-D

This may be a bit too classical compared with the music you’ve listed, but for the German invasion of Russia, I recommend the first movement of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7 (the Leningrad Symphony). It starts out quietly, then switches to a march representing the German invasion, then explodes into a musical battle sequence that always makes me think of the massive armoured clash at Kursk (even though the symphony was composed a couple of years earlier, in 1941).

If we’d use music in our games, and if i had my way, some of my choices would be:
(as opener)
Laibach - Drzava

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12aKfNsUdQY&feature=related(USA entering the war full of hope)
Wumpscutt - Total Recall

(which is indeed a cover of the Total Recall theme song)(drama rising - big battle ahead)
Turbund Sturmwerk - Kainsmal

NON - Total War
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3aeWHz6Zok…and concluding the game:
The Klinik - World Domination

Rock and Roll. And just about anything else… although, no rap or country.
