I think the first flag was the naval flag, while the 2nd was the state flag.

Indeed either you missed the whole WW2 thing in history class or your in denial.

I’m don’t learn about WW2 yet, I’m still quite young.

The top one is the Third Reich’s Naval Ensign, and the bottom one is their normal flag. Same with Calvin’s British Flags
