We use a heavy outdoor vinyl for our maps. The kind that sign shops use for promotional banners etc. Really nice on larger maps. Don’t be scared to spend the extra money over paper as it is well worth it long term.
Table Tactics releasing new line in June
-
Not sure anyone has heard about this yet. I “friended” Table Tactics on Facebook and received a product update. If you “friend” them as well, they have line drawings of the tanks they are planning. According to the info there, he will be taking photos of the new tanks next week. I know TT has a habit of falling behind schedule with this kind if thing, but it’s something to keep our eye on. Based on previous stuff, it’s not likely to match the quality of FMG, but price may reflect that in the end. Also, he made mention of something like 8 infantry moulds… guess we’ll have to wait and see. I figure combining this with the FMG stuff will make the SUPER ULTIMATE A&A SET!
Check it out. Sorry, there is no way for me to post a link. There is nothing about it on their website yet either.

Variable,
Can you save the drawings and post here?

I’ve always thought that TT has the best quality A&A pieces - maybe not as detailed, but really really good plastic.

Well i have seen most of his CAD drawings about 3-4 years ago. At that time he was saying the same thing hes saying now.
The problem is the infantry pieces are atrocious. You figure its a guy standing up with a gun……no. What i saw was some stupid idea that infantry representation would become a “GUN”… either rifle, sub machine gun, or machine gun ALONE standing up at a 45 degree angle to represent various infantry. Needless to say this is a horrible idea and i hope somebody sensibly talking him out of this horrible gaff. Somehow i think nobody did because few actually saw the designs to have a chance to provide feedback.
If anybody can shoot him an email to make sure he dropped this idea.

We are making first shots next week and I should be able to take pictures of parts. I will post them ASAP. :O)
Regards, JackGot this reply from him on FB…

My guess is that Jack Geissler will not make nation specific pieces, so I dont know, maybe use his pieces for the neutrals ?
-
I asked Jack, and he said there will be 8 countries represented:
1. USA
2. UK
3. USSR
4. GERMANY
5. JAPAN
6. ITALY
7. FRANCE(yes!!!)
8. SURPRISE!! (I don’t want to say, but a cool power to add) -

Why would you think that? (let me guess - he has the sketches on facebook?)

To answer your question IL, no, no one has talked him out of the gun idea…
-
That was a terrible idea
-
Where is the Hungarian piece?
-
I do agree that the idea sucks - I will buy his pieces for tanks only.

No pieces from Canada. The pieces he made are posted already. His next batch will be flak artillery, artillery, ports, airfields…. and no not Canadian ones either.
Just use British tanks for them.

I received a sample of the new pieces…
These are not in AA scale and are closer to Jeff’s The War Game: World War Two.
I estimate them to be about 85% larger than AA pieces ( tanks)
Also, the sprue they came on has really thick connecting supports and will prove very hard to remove the pieces.
Additionally they all have some round ‘hole’ on the side and the detail is not better than AA pieces.
FMG will be the only one who will get it right it seems. These new Table Tactics pieces seem like they are catered more for M44 or another game/market.
