Axis & Allies Global 1940: can two different allied nations both occupy the same transport

  • I asked Chat GPT this question:

    In Axis & Allies Global 1940: can two different allied nations both occupy the same transport?

    The response I got from Chat GPT is this:

    "In Axis & Allies Global 1940, each transport can only carry one power’s units at a time. Specifically, the rules state that each transport can carry one land unit and one infantry unit during the non-combat movement phase, or two land units during the non-combat movement phase if they are going to the same destination.

    This means that if two different Allied nations want to transport their units on the same transport, it wouldn’t be allowed under the standard rules of the game. Each transport can only transport the units of one power at a time.

    It’s important to note that house rules or variants might be in play, and some gaming groups modify the rules to suit their preferences. Always make sure to clarify any house rules before starting a game with a new group."

    However, the official Axis & Allies manual seems to indicate that it is treated no differently than two different allied aircraft occupying the same aircraft carrier.

    Can someone please clarify?

    Assuming you’re serious:

    Well, it’s an AI’s (one who frequently gets a lot of the finer details of more obscure stuff like Axis and Allies wrong) word against, you know, the actual rules.

    In other words, yeah, the manual’s right.

    @Panther @Krieghund I’m correct, right?

    A transport can carry a unit from two different Powers. The AI is wrong.

    Bear in mind, the land units on the transport only act on their Turn.
