Hi Folks,
if I had to choose, I would always decide my self for the Pacific. I prefere the huge naval/air battles over the large clashes of tanks in Russia or the battle for the Atlantic. And with the scale of A&A, the engagements between the German Africa Corps and the British 8th Army are merely a sideshow.
Greetings,
Lars

It will be in one piece.
-
how would you know, are you a map-tester also ?
-
@Brain:
I know this is off topic but does anybody know what the turn order is going to be?
I guess Japan start first. Then China, then UK and USA last. Wild guess.
You guys forgot Anzac, when would they go?
Sorry for being off topic, this question deserve its own thread
That would be my guess as well.
-
@cannon:
Does anyone know if the map will in one piece or in 3 pieces like Axis and Allies Anniversary Edition?
I think it’s one piece but with a knife you could make it into as many pieces as you’d like.
-
Krieg, a one piece map, really? That would take a huge box to put it in. Does that mean the map will roll up, or will it fold?
-
My bet is that it’s going to fold.
-
I can’t picture them making a roll up map. I think without a doubt it will be folding
-
Hold on a minute here:
We were promised the return of Air Bases, Ports, and Convoy Boxes with A&A:P40… Yet there’s no evidence of them anywhere on the map pics!
What the deuce?
-
There arent any evidence of production facilities either. But you know theyll be there. There never have been evidnce for them. You just have to use your imagination till the game comes out.

The convoy boxes are there - they’re just hard to see. As for the rest, you’ll just have to wait.
-
Yeah, Krieghund earlier said that the map we see is the map you’ll see in the box, albeit, not the same production type, but the way it looks is the way it will be.
For the other items, you’ll see plastic or cardboard pieces to designate their locations…
-
look closely in the pictures around borneo, sumatra, new zealand ect. you will see a silhouette of a ship representing the convoys. Actually the convoys are all over the place if you look closely.
-
I see it! I see it!

Does that suggest that they will work like AAP? Controlling the sea lanes around an island will rob the home nation of its IPCs?
Aside: If AAP40 and AAE40 can be combined… Will there be similar convoy control in the Atlantic / Indian Ocean?

They’ll work in a similar fashion, but not in exactly the same way.

Yes.
-
So I only have to own some of the area around an island?
-
Are you suggesting that you can own the ocean?
-
idk… not neccssarrily own…but I think the word “control” works best. yeah control the flow of goods and services in the ocean. You dont own the sea, but you decide what goes where. So for all intensive purposes you do “own it” Side note do you think the american fighters are going to be like they were in AA50? (awesome) or like they are in every other game (difficult to pick up with man sized hands)
-
Maybe you need a pair of tweezers.
-
You know thats not a bad idea…but wouldnt it get kind of annoying after a while?
