I just started playing Axis and allies 1940 with 6 peoples . Where do I start implementing the more complicated rules of the game and house rules after we got the basics down like phases/ fighting units

I would avoid making any house rules until your group is familiar with the base game and how it plays.

For how long have you been playing Axis & Allies - and which variations?

We are about to release a Basic Expansion for use with Global 1940. You might find this Basic Expansion usefull in order to become more familiar with the game mechanismes, units and rules, when starting playing with house rules.

The expected release of the Axis & Allies Global 1940 Basic House Rules Expansion is no later than 1st August 2021.

I would avoid making any house rules until your group is familiar with the base game and how it plays.

I agree. First, learn how to play. The better players will likely win, no matter their side. Game unbalance does not become a factor until all players are at the same level of play.

Plus, it’s important to know the basics before moving on to more complicated rules.
