Possible to connect different Versions?

I have already purchased Axis and Allies Pacific 1st Edition. Is it possible to connect Axis and Allies Europe 2nd Edition with it? Or are those two not compatible?
Sorry I am new to this game and dont know the different rules of those two versions :dog:
