• i dont quite understand how certain neutral territories work. examples being, java, dutch new guinea, celebes, and sumatra. can anyone explain these territories to me?

  • If you’ve played Pacific, these territories work the same way in Global. These specific territories can be occupied by UK or ANZAC forces during the noncombat phase in order to gain control of them and get their IPC’s. Japan can occupy them during the combat move, but doing so puts them at war with UK, ANZAC, and the US (not sure if US is immediately at war or must declare it during US turn) unless UK or ANZAC made an un[rovoked DoW on Japan earlier.

  • Yes.  These particular territories are not neutral.  They are Dutch possessions under UK protection.  Only UK or ANZAC may take possession of them peacefully, and an Axis power must be at war with UK/ANZAC in order to attack them.

Would other allied powers (mainly the US) be able to take control of them peacefully?

  • No.  The only way an Allied power other than UK or ANZAC can gain control of them is to recapture them from the Axis.
