To cover all the nations I basically used two full games of Axis and Allies Global 1940 games… Plus any extra special pieces I needed such as TBD and Medium Bombers. I also went ahead and have close to 100 militia acrylic tokens. and around 50 to 75 of all the others as well needed. ( not really needed just wanted to keep everything acrylic ) … any extra units or neutrals and just painted white or what ever they aligned under.

RE: GW 1936 Clarifications
I don’t see how that can be allowed if Japan is at war with only China? and you wanna lend lease troops to China VIA. going into Hong Kong? While the FEC are still " Neutral" to Japan? I don’t see how that can be allowed to have foreign units " placed on neutral soil" I don’t think you can lend lease on behalf of another nation and take it into their port while remaining neutral. If prior to the " opening of the Burma road" and China is invaded some time before July 38 Then KMT has whatever ports made available to them. That is there own ports.
-
RE: GW 1936 Clarifications
ï‚· Burma Road: The Burma road opens on July 1938 if Japan and China are at war and Yunnan is in Possession of the Allies. The Burma Road may be used as a way to deliver foreign lend-lease material to the KMT once KMT is at war with a major power. The lend lease arrives in Yunnan. China may use its own money to purchase artillery and antiaircraft. These must be placed in Yunnan. This part that say’s " The lend lease arrives in Yunnan" means that any and all lend lease is and has to arrive in Yunnan. These are specific rules to China’s KMT and any regular game rules on lend lease do not apply because these rules are only specific to China’s KMT . Doesn’t matter that Hong Kong is closer etc etc.

RE: GW 1936 Clarifications
Yes and if also if an aircraft carrier is in the battle then the sub can not submerge. and it is also a modifier on a whatever line it is on Cap. so for example If you have a destroyer on Escort duty in the line off Gibraltar. Which would give those lines a +1 but off England you have a plane on Cap which charges whatever lines bisect the Convoy raiding lines. So for example that line from Gibraltar to England would have a + 3 modifier, the line from Canada to England would have a + 2 modifier etc etc. you can only have 1 unit on convoy escort duty per zone, but if there are a lot of zones you can obvious increase the modifier. Ill have to find that link as well.

RE: GW 1936 Clarifications
I just go off that very last statement that Doug use’s as his " final summarization of the definition" you know? to basically sum it up. But yeah I am also interested in the v.3 rules to see if anything can get any clear but until then I feel as this does it nicely I agree.

RE: GW 1936 Clarifications
HBG-Doug Staff answered 2 years ago
CLARIFICATION: The submarine can be attacked for one round by an aircraft on combat air patrol. Â Then it can submerge. Â The aircraft provides a +2 roll against convoy raiding attempts… Â

RE: GW36 Italian Strategy - Mare Bambino Nostrum (Our Baby Sea)
Once Italy is at war I do tend to Lend Lease what ever I can to them. This further aids them in power and projection as well it secures the southern approach. Just a thought if you wanna try it out.

RE: Major Neutrality question 1936
@Rank:
Whitshadw has it right. I have found some rule locations for you from version 1.2. So you can show your game group. Remember that all National Reference Sheets are part of the rules and can have extra information. It’s essential for you to read 0.3 Terminology page 4. This defines Capialized terms in rules as different than the dictionary meanings.
@Whitshadw:@R:
While Neutral can Germany land troops in North Africa?
No Both nations need to be at war with the same major power before they can land units in each others territory other wise you are violating each other Neutrality. Only once both nations are at war do they become Aligned and then can you Land units, Lend lease etc
page 19 table 4-2, page 20 4.4 Aligning and page 20 table 4-3 Neutrality and Alignment. Page 5 Friendly has an example
Can US park its fleet in the Channel?
No not until the United States are at war can they move their entire fleet into the English Channel. At 35 IPP the United States can help Escort duty on convoy lines but still can not move their entire fleet out.
United States National Reference Sheet(Income Determined Actions)
Can France land planes in the UK? Yes but only when France and England are at war with the same major power.
same answer as your first question on neutral German troops to North AfricaIf the US parks its fleet in the Channel and the U.K. Has a fleet in same zone how can Germany attack UK boats without declaring war on the US? It does not clarify in the rules that a nation can choose which nation it wants to attack if two nations share a zone. The United States would need to be in a state of war to be able to move its fleet to the Channel.
page 5 Possession/Ownership: “You may not Possess a sea zone.” Moving into a seazone isnt an Attack on all nations navies located there. In your example the us/uk would need to be already aligned by location and would defend together due to already being at war with Germany. However if the Us is not in that sea zone but the Uk moved its navy to the English Channel (Netherlands has a navy there). If all nations present are Neutral Germany could pick UK or Netherlands navy to Attack and not Attack the other. Unless the Netherlands or the UK are able to declare war on Germany themselves at that time(National Reference Sheets), to defend each other in the battle. All rules the same as the previous questions you asked. And page 35 for both 8.1 Declarations of war and table 8-1 2.Consequences.http://www.globalwargame.com/www/dwqa-questions/
This link is to developers FAQ. You can search it or sign up to ask questions. Or go to their sales site and ask them directly.
But honestly questions here have brought me to answers I needed just as well.Thank you very much my friend. I was not meaning to ignore him or anyone here who has a question. Please feel free to ask I just work full time and go to School full time and its summer lol! I’m 34 and living it up as best as I can! But please no question is a dumb question if anyone is ever looking for help please feel free! Best Wishs!

RE: British and France cooperation
I can give a very short answer or a very long and drawn out one. ill stick with a short one for now since I have a wedding to go to shortly
ok so Yes once both nations are at war with the same nation I.E. Germany. Absolutely draw out and make Germany pay for every territory with maximum casualties right.
Once both France and England are at war I like to place two units in Marseilles because Germany needs to now take over this territory before the fall of Paris to be able to invoke Vichy. Also Picardia because France has a finite amount of income that they can use. with out spreading out your forces to thin for encirclement or lumping up all your units in only Lorraine and Paris so it becomes a Balancing act.
On the first turn that France is at war with Germany France can not go on the offensive on land until one full turn has passed, but England can if you are able to take territory from Germany and chop down a major factory into a minor then why not make them pay for it?
Also now that Both nations are at war with Germany England can now lend lease units or money to France and since again both nations are at war with Germany England can land units into France it self ( should of started off with that) before being at war no units from another nation can enter another nations territory because they are viewed as a " Major power but neutral " in respects to all other powers because that country isn’t at war with anyone else. so no Alliances have not yet been formed  only after A declaration of war has been made then everything previously mention can come to pass. If need be I can clean all this up if it sounds to jumbled I hope this helps. If you want after the weekend is over with ill write up a much better explanation and I will site everything from the rules and FAQ as well. But I hope this at lest helps you a little.

I am not sure if this question is directed to me? or… is that just a saying, also which game are you discussing?

RE: GW36 Italian Strategy - Operazione Chiave (Operation Key).
Great topic and thread. I’ll preface by saying I have not yet had the opportunity to play my game just yet, work gets in the way, and having someplace to keep the awesome, hulking map, set up for extended periods of time alludes us.
I’ve done my best to familiarize myself with the game and rules though.
Point here as it relates to this topic, is that the Spanish Civil War really does play into this strategy a lot as well when you think of it. If the goal for Italy/Mediterranean Axis is Gibraltar, doesn’t making sure the Nationalists win the Spanish Civil War take on a whole great importance? As you say in your original post, the amphibious attacking is brutally costly. Activation and alignment of an Axis Spain though would alleviate the need for an amphibious assault on the Rock.
I’m sure that has not alluded you or anyone else here, that’s not my point. The point was that when discussing Italian objectives being Gibraltar, I think you need to add the Spanish Civil War into the wider spectrum of steps to attaining that goal.
That just adds to the fun and intrigue of the game for me. Thinking that one thing, maybe seemingly not connected to an action, truly is in the grander scheme of strategy!
HBG has added " Spanish Civil War" expansion that further " excuse my pun" Expands on the war it self. For example if on the German players turn they roll a specific number on the random events chart one of the abilities is that the Nationals are able to invade Gibraltar it self. Very fun very interesting but ultimately it always boils down to DICE right? I do hope you are able to play the game it is absolutely fun.

RE: Russia declare war on allies house rule. HBG 1936
We basically do the same as Jinx. The Victory Points is a great way to have a clear cut winner, but when the game is coming to the end and you wanna keep going because on the map it looks even for everyone. You shouldn’t have to make silly moves that you normally wouldn’t do just to rob a VP from someone. We agree that we will keep the continuity of the game going and not risk doing something that you wouldn’t normally do for a VP. Then we add up the points and look at the map and agree to keep going or stop depending on how it looks over all.
We like to play to the integrity of the game it self and if that means I don’t crash my navy into his to rob him from a victory condition then so be it. We all strive to play those extra innings.

RE: GW36 Italian Strategy - Operazione Chiave (Operation Key).
It makes very little sense that a factory removes the possibility to place Militia in a territory.
can be built <– it does not say must be built…
it says neither it says “ï‚· Militia do not require a factory. The number of militia you may place in a zone is equal to the zone’s point value with a minimum of one militia per zone (even if the zone has no point value). A captured land zone is always restricted to one militia per turn” on page-51 the first part states that factories are not required to build militia.
the second part sits on page-53 Infantry (Militia): The militia unit represents various types of local or immobile defense forces. These are often conscripted and poorly trained units such garrison armies, colonial militias and land similar units. Militia can be built at a non-factory site. Most Militia cannot move. Militia have an Attack value of “1†in the rare case that they can be moved to Attack.
in the center of the paragraph it states that " Militia can be built at a non-factory site."
finally if you look at every single nations build chart under Militia it states “Build in non-factory site” basically telling you not to build in a factory location.
