That’s a great idea! Do you think it would work in 42.2?

@SS:
Why do you need to keep all the pieces even. Piece cost more than it’s stronger. Don’t see why you need all this mumble jumble. You want pieces even then buy more tanks or etc.

Art A3 D2. Boost inf +1
Tank A3 D4. +1 on A with a tac
I’m with Ichabod. I think tanks are too strong in any die system.
This gives you option to buy more art.
So it helps Russia defend a little better with tanks but Germany just brings more art and tacos and has to buy a few more tanks on Normandy front.I’m sorry what? Tacos?

RE: Can it be too much?
My two cents would be, do whatever you think will make it the most fun for you. Mr. Harris himself has encouraged house rules.

RE: YouTube videos
From a year and a half’s experience at LD Debate here 3 things I find extremely helpful.
1. Practice speaking in front of
A: Your parents
B: The mirror2: Do vocal exercises before you speak. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tXK7cw9mrg
3: Just go for it. I find that I get better the more I talk so while the beginnings of my speeches are rough they almost invariably get better as the round goes on.
PS: what’s your youtube channel called?

RE: A New Game
I see, I’ll continue my personal hunt for the most in depth war game I can find. Being a minor myself, I am unaware of old games from “your time” (No offense). Thank you for taking time to write such an in depth response. Also yes, I know what RISK is.
Hi fellow minor! :wink:

RE: Why Germany lost WWII
@CWO:
By the way, on the subject of historical counterfactuals (and of Hannibal and Rome), here’s a Soviet-era joke. Soviet scientists develop a historical reincarnation technique, and as its first application they reincarnate three great military leaders: Hannibal, Julius Caesar and Napoleon. To celebrate this triumph of Soviet science, the Kremlin stages a huge military parade in Red Square, with the three reincarnated leaders present on the reviewing stand as guests of honor (and provided with interpreters at their side). As a Soviet tank formation drives past the reviewing stand, Hannibal exclaims, “Why, if I’d had those tanks instead of my elephants, I would have conquered Rome!” Next, when a Red Army infantry unit marches past the reviewing stand, Caesar exclaims, “Why, if I’d had those soldiers instead of my legionaries, I would have conquered the world!” Napoleon, meanwhile, is ignoring the parade and is instead (with the help of his interpreter) studying a copy a Pravda; he exclaims, “Why, if I’d had this newspaper, nobody would ever have heard about Waterloo!”
ROFLMHO :-D :-D :-D

RE: Should Lord Curtmungus leave A&A.org?
Gargantua… first, you’re not funny.
Even though you KNOW it’s a dated picture, i’ll go ahead and debunk you.
To start off, you have no answer for the most damning evidence, the fact he has a 1980s Post Grape Nuts cereal box in a clearly 1970s decorated trailer home, playing a game from 1984… I won’t even mention the feathered hair of the guy on the left.
Next, gallon water jugs existed and were in-use in the 1980s, when this shot was taken. I had them myself back then.
Finally, you need to get your eyes checked… there’s no energy drink on the market with that design… I will fill you in to finally put your idiotic defense to rest.
Ladies and Gentleman of the court, I am pleased to announce we have magnified the can and have clearly identified make, design and year.
That is the silver on the top, white on the bottom, blue bull in the middle, proudly named SCHLITZ logo on the top… and that design is the 1984 Schlitz Stout Malt Liquor 16oz can.
1984 Gentlemen… I rest my case. Curt tried to pawn-off a 30 year old picture, which has been clearly identified and dated.
Bravo Bravo. you are truly a master at this art.

RE: Good Deal on 1941
@Baron:
What is mainly missing from my POV to boost a unit packs for cheap is Artillery in this game.
I would have bought 2 copies without hesitation if there was Inf-Art-Tank in it.
I’m not enough of a pieces-junky for more Tigers in my already fully 2 loaded boxes of German’s pieces.It doesn’t have artillery, but you can always buy extra artillery from HBG (Lord knows I did). I think the point is here, for $15, I think you’d be challenged to buy all the relevant ships, planes and tanks that DO come in 1941, for the same price if you were to try and pick them up from HBG (sans-game).
I did my best to fill my trays too, and my German tray includes things such as Panthers, Tigers, Me-109s, FW-190s and more (I think I have 66 infantry for each country… and this is just for my 1942SE game)…
And right there I realized my 1942.2 and 41 games are not actually that big of a collection.

RE: Your First WWII Book
@Der:
Mine was probably one of the books in the Time-life series published about WWII.
Same, my Great-Grandfather had a bunch of those Time-life books that he gave to me.

RE: WW2 movies, the most/least accurate.
Saints and Soldiers is really good equipment-wise, the movie itself is mediocre. It’s on Amazon prime instant video. It’s set in the opening days of the battle of the bulge. The only thing I noticed is that the Germans who shoot 70-plus American POW’s at Malmedy are regular Wehrmacht and not SS, but whatever.

RE: Anyone else play Squad Leader?
Side question, do you know a place where I can print out the rules? For some reason, the copy I have doesn’t have the first 2 sections.

Anyone else play Squad Leader?
Just wondering if there are any other tactical level gamers that also do A&A?
EDIT: Added Question Mark
