A copy of Action Comics number 1 introducing Superman recently went for $317,000 dollars.

If that is an actual picture of the book it is the only photo I’ve seen of a copy that is still white. Usually the title background is at minimum dingy.

oldancient stuff is almost in a foreign language.Oh, I know, I’m just laughing with my pragmatic/utilitarian outlook that the read wouldn’t be anywhere close to worth $300k+ (to me). But that’s obviously beside the point.
Never knew that outright killed the bad guys though…that’s interesting. I thought that was just borrowed from those days and killing off superheroes/villains was a relatively knew idea.

You can find reprints of the story at a reasonable price. Usually around a big anniversary the first issue gets a reprint edition and your local comic shop likely has a couple in their back issue bins.
DC has a terrific line of reprint editions called Archive Editions for most of their books.
They are hardbound with glossy paper. You can usually pick them up on ebay at a discount from MSRP.
