    I surely do not experience it as a diss. These games are really on edge. In which way are the games extra-ordinary? Is it the style of play or the events (dice etc)?


  • The battle in Chinghai. That was a textbook “strafe attack” with an 11.3 TUV swing in my favor with a single round of combat followed by a retreat with the 8 armor into Kazakh at 96% reliability at the result. The worst thing to have happen would be to roll 10 hits and be stuck there.

    There was only a 4% chance of that happening and it happened.

    To make matters worse, the Japanese rolled hot on defense followed by the Russians rolling cold on the Japanese turn.

    Without the Russian armor, I feel very strongly that this game will conclude in one or two world turns. I’m totally okay with that though. If there was a ‘right’ move to go out on that was it and I feel much more confident playing the allies now.

  • To answer the rest of the question, this is the first game where I have felt on edge (a good thing). Our previous games I never felt that way as the allies.

    My comment was in regards to this game alone. Italy will understand the other extraordinary aspects, lol (dice - both good and bad).


  • @the_good_captain Yeah, I feel you. Those tanks had 4 ‘borders’ to defend at the same time. As axis, you want to lure them in to a battle and reduce the number, as you can’t keep enough units around on 4 places to potentially defend them. They should have 2 or 3 rounds with favorable TUV swings in them before they either force a breakthrough on India or rest in Moscow to defend.

    Perhaps, this is good inspiration for a video in which you discuss the Low Luck option. Especially in strafe attacks and AA shots, the rule has its merits as it allows for a more calculated offense and defense. Not a fan of it though. Little uncertainty in attack and defense is fun. Although, we (and especially Italy) have seen some extremes in this game.
