  • I hope you don’t mind, when I hit four times you had a choice of keeping a damaged carrier, a dd both defend at 2, or a fighter that would crash if I retreated. I chose to keep your fighter since I planned on staying (something you may not have known), but I didn’t want another day to go on, so rather than make you choose to keep the carrier and then roll at a 2, I kept the fighter which was your best option if I am staying and it hit. Either way, your next roll was a 2, meaning the carrier would have hit anyway so it all worked out well. (except for your low rolls and my high rolls this game…sorry)


  • For people reading about dark skies, here is my thought process:

    Because of the focus on Italy’s navy, prior to my turn, I chose to abandon a concerted attack on Egypt, planning (before UK’s rolls after my scramble decision) to use what I thought would be my sole remaining transport to bring a tank and infantry to Yugo, figuring I would be down a mech from not taking S. France in order to preserve the integrity of my bomber strategy (since Italy is expendable in theory).

    As it turned out I had a good defense round when UK did roll. In keeping with what I thought was going to be worse, I still chose to not hit S. France with my standard 2 transports 4 infantry from S. Italy to S. France. Instead I found that due to Italian providence I can bring 2 more units to Yugo than expected, thus eliminating the need to use Italy’s turn 2 production for Russia but forcing a later navy build to ever put pressure on Egypt (figuring that my fleet will still be sunk or decimated after Frances and UK’s next turn). I also deviated from building 2 mech saving 2 IPCs to making one armor to compensate for the expect 1 less mech due to my lower income later rounds.

    If I still have the chance to produce 3 mech next turn (barring bombing), I may still do so, bringing my piece count for Italian defense of Bryansk from 16 (2 aagun,4inf,2art,6mech,2 arm) to 18 (2aagun,6inf,3art,4mech,3arm) if you had successfully killed my transport then I expect even going Italy first in future games to field 16 pieces by clearing the cruiser (with a bomber and sub)that should have been 96 then bringing the tank and inf to Yugo (expecting to lose navy but clear waters without the extra sub,bomber) making the force composition (2aagun,5inf,2art,4mech,3arm) in future crush Italy first strategies.


  • I also figured out why my game wasn’t posting turns after my moves….(egg on face), I have to manually click “post move summary”, not just click done. Hope this helps any future new users of Triple A and the forums.


  • To save time:

    I will scramble 2 fighters, 1 tactical if France hits z97 with a dd and a cruiser.


  • If you score two hits round 1 or two hits total, remove the Italian dd and Cruiser. Later remove the German tactical, then the 2 Italian fighters will die last prior to sinking my transports. (assuming your luck catches up with you and the dd, ca sink my fleet ;)


  • I will be sending 3 bombers, 2 fighters, a cv, ca, bb, and 3 subs at z109’s 2 dd, sub, damaged bb on Germany’s turn. Do you wish to scramble 2 fighters?

    If so, I expect to hit 5 times, but if I hit 4 which two units should remain? If I hit 5 what unit do you want to remain? All others, I will pause for your decision. (Or if you prefer to wait then ignore this message) (I expect to DOW on Russia and to take Karelia and Vyborg to prevent landing UK fighters there if that affects your decision.)

  • Thought process for those watching game:

    Since America has committed resources to the Europe board (they may still redeploy west), I need to pause the Japanese bombers for 1 turn and commit resources to a Japanese swift city grab in order to draw more resources towards Japan. I expect to build more bombers next and later turns.
