Ever make up your own special weapons (then use two dice to select, instead of one)?
LSTs: Transports can carry 4 INF or 2 ARM
C140s: Bombers can transport 2 INF or 1 ARM, but cannot attack on the same turn.
Codebreakers (aka spies): None of your territories or seazones can be attacked, unless the opponent has notified you at the end of his previous turn which ones will be attacked.
Marathon troops: INF can move 2 spaces instead of 1.
Movable factories: An Industrial Complex can be dismantled, and rebuilt in an adjacent territory. (Russia actually did this in WWII)
