College Football is finally here.

  • Michigan State will win by 7, and have over 200 yds rushing as a team.

  • Real nervous about my Hawkeyes out in the desert.  last few trips out to the state of Arizona have been nightmares.

  • @RogertheShrubber:

Real nervous about my Hawkeyes out in the desert.  last few trips out to the state of Arizona have been nightmares.

The Hawks have themselves a tough road trip on their hands and Arizona is no push over. Their defense should be good enough to keep them in it but the Hawks always seem to find at least one game a season where they beat themselves. I hope they win but that is likely to be a close game. Glad I’m not a Hawks fan. You’ll have to delay the first beer of the day for a bit I’d imagine.

I think Sparty beats the Domers pretty good on Saturday. I’m just sorry it isn’t on till 8:00. I finally get an entire Saturday for football and the match-ups through the afternoon are pretty lackluster. So we got Sparty/ND and Texas/Texas Tech but the rest of the day is a bit “meh.” Gators and Vols should be interesting briefly and it will be fun to watch the Buckeyes 2nd teams get some reps. We should get to see a lot of Hall and Berry in the 2nd half. Both of those guys look promising.

  • Nebraska plays Washington today. If NU plays like they did last week against Idaho it could be a long day for the Huskers.

  • Rough trip for the Hawkeyes on Saturday. Great ending to the MSU-Notre Dame game although it seems to have sent the MSU head coach to the hospital with a heart attack. Bama and OSU continue to look good although they didn’t have very strong opponents.

TSUN is in for what appears to be a slightly better remake of last season it seems. They gave up 37 points to lowly FCS opponent UMASS who seemed to  be gashing them up the middle on runs with regularity. They aren’t going to be able to outscore everybody.

  • Woot!  :-D College football is going good my team (Michigan State Spartans) is 3-0!  :-o  GO STATE!  :-D

Gutsy call from Dantonio on the the fake field goal in OT. Put the dude in the hospital though. Hope he’s better  and on the sidelines again soon. Looking forward to you guys putting the first L on the board for TSUN. Although the Hoosiers are lighting it up in the passing game and TSUN’s D is terrible. They might beat you to it.

Looks like some good games away from the B10 this week as they finish up their OOC schedules. Bama-Arkansas; Oregon State-Boise State; Auburn-S.C.; Stanford-ND; and mostly of interest locally Ohio-Marshall.

  • Clemson. I wish CJ was  still here.

  • So the big questions for the weekend would be?

    Mine are:

Can the Buckeyes take care of business?

    Wisconsin or MSU?

Can Indiana give TSUN a little payback for the robbery they suffered last year?

Can the Oregon O continue to put up blistering numbers against a team with a pulse?

    And Tide or Gators?

  • So Bama would appear to be pretty darn good although the Gators looked inept (snicker) but a good D will do that to you.

    Oregon’s O is blistering again.

Kinnick stadium looked pretty awesome in alternating black and gold ala Boise on Saturday evening and played a pretty good game. That D end for the Hawks is lights out.

All I hear is how the OSU passing game needs to be stepped up but none of the TV talking heads mentioned the brutal wind in Champaign. The one that knocked down a 41 yard field goal and sailed kickoffs to the back of the endzone.

Indiana got robbed again. No. 77 at tackle for TSUN got away with a big time hold to spring Shoelaces.

Sparty looked very un-Sparty in their win on Saturday.

  • Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!

And somebody tied the Shoelaces! Way to go Sparty!

  • I’m curious to see the polls since Alabama and Michigan lost.

  • I’d guess 1)Oregon or OSU; 2)Oregon/OSU  3)Boise maybe 1)OSU 2)Boise 3)Oregon but the Tide had better fall out of the top five or it’s U$C all over again, losing to a team they shouldn’t and getting a pass. Nebraska played well and could make a move. Maybe 1-OSU; 2-Oregon 3-Boise 4-TCU and 5-Nebraska?

In any case it will likely start another ‘we need a playoff’ discussion.’

I agree with you, there are to many undefeated teams for Alabama to remain a top five.

  • I wouldn’t be surprised though if one of the other teams from the media darling SEC made a move as well but we’ll see. But there are enough undefeated teams that Bama should take a fall especially if you take into consideration their flat performance against the Razorbacks and that the win over PSU is likely as much about the Nit’s troubles.

Hopefully what happened to the Tide well serve as example to the Buckeyes and they’ll be fired up and ready and put a beat down on the Badgers.

You ok with Alabama as number eight in the the nation?

  • Sounds about right. Glad to see the Buckeyes in the No. 1 spot. Should be very good motivation to put a hurt on the Badgers in Camp Randall.

  • I need Ohio State and Sparty to come into Kinnick undeafeted in order for the Hawkeyes to juice up their computer rankings for a solid BCS bid.  Granted if the hawks win those games and finish 11-1.  If we do finish 11-1 I will be extremely bitter with that los in the desert that we came up with.  We completely imploded on special teams and handed them a victory.

  • From the Buckeye perspective obviously OSU needs to win out and your Hawks putting a loss on Sparty would be just the ticket for the Buckeyes to win the outright B10 title. Iowa has Sparty before their meeting with OSU right? That creates the potential for the match-up in Kinnick to be the B10 title game.

I’m looking forward to Saturday again as we get to see how the Iowa D shuts down the TSUN offense and the Buckeyes head to Camp Randall to try and stop the Wiscy road graders.

Do the Hawks have any kind of a power running game? They should be able to do whatever they want with the ball on TSUN just like Sparty shouldn’t they?

  • We have had some injuries at RB.  But Adam Robinson has been pretty productive this season.  If Jewel Hampton was still healthy, our rush offense would be pretty fearsome having two solid backs.  But I believe we will still run the ball effective enough to get the win.  Ricky has eliminated alot of the mistakes he had a season ago and he is 3rd in the nation in QB rating.  Outside of Indiana, I think we have the best WR combo in the bigten.  Luckily we have Sparty, Bucky, and Brutus all at home.  That OSU vs. Iowa match-up in November should be the BigTen decider like it was last season.
