Turn Summary context for Play By Forum
-
My brother is working on some changes to TripleA to get it to automatically create the turn summary text for posting in the forums. We are looking for feedback on how it all looks (ie. is there info missing, too much/not enough info, bad layout, etc.)
Please check out this thread to see the A&A Classic game that we are playing to test the turn summary info and let us know if you have any thoughts! Thanks.

Looks decent to me, though I’d recommend some spacing between the combat rounds for ease of reading.
-
Thanks Jennifer. Based on your suggestion we’ve increased the indentation (instead of skipping a line). I think it’s more readable now.
If anyone else has suggestions, please feel free to share!

Much better!

Will this allow TripleA to be used with someone else who is using a board?
-
Very unlikely. In order to be able to use it with someone using a board or different map util, TripleA would have to parse the turn summary that’s posted in the forums to figure out what happened on the other player’s turn. A) That’s a lot of coding to do, and B) the other player would have to follow a strict format when posting (right now everyone kind of posts a little different).

For the actual TripleA changes, we’ve moved the topic here:

I think what Dan (frood) meant was will it allow someone to use TripleA and copy/paste the results into a board and I don’t think that would be possible without letting TripleA e-mail dice results directly and that means having a server sitting somewhere.
-
TripleA does have dice servers that send out the dice for verification. See the other thread for the new features, I think it will work.
-
So if I integrated a dice roller into the forums, would you be able to use that?
-
You mean the one that’s already there - sure, it would work too I guess, once TripleA is able to receive input on the # of hits
