@zooooma I see no indication of anything even remotely about AA games, but more fantasy titles being worked on which is typical of WOTC. they choked the life out of Avalon Hill until it was dead. They could care less about anything remotely Historical and only deal in FANTASY. Nothing but a bunch of fat slobs with pimples rolling for hobgoblins, etc.
A&A Anniversary Sold Out (rumor)
-
I’ve been using this site as a resource for some time, but I never bothered to register and post anything - never had anything to say that hadn’t already been said here, First time for everything, I suppose.
Here’s my contribution to a rumor - my local store that gets their inventory from Hong Kong says that the 50th Anniversary Edition is now sold out, but that Hasbro will release the game again in May or June as Axis & Allies 1942. It will be the same game, but without the nice boxes, and no anniversary references.
Has anyone heard the same?
Cheers

Will be cheaper than Anniversary? I not buy Anniversary because to much money. If new is cheaper I maybe buy. People here say is nice but $100 is much money. $50 I may buy game.
-
He did not have a price for this game. If true, it may be less than the anniversary, but I doubt it will be $50 - if it is true.

Edit: its only the picture which is the almost the same as AA50.

370 pieces to AA50’s 600. That settles that - it is not the same game as AA50.
What is it, then?

It’s the boo boo prize - probably has new rules from A&A:50 but no Italy and maybe fewer board spaces. Here’s the blurb:
Spring 1942… the world is at war! Five world powers struggle for supremacy: Germany and Japan are aligned against England, the Soviet Union, and the USA. You control the military and economic destiny of one of these countries in the titanic struggle that will decide the fate of the world. You will need the perseverance of Montgomery, the daring of Rommel, the courage of Patton, the timing of Yamamoto, and the steadfastness of Zhukov! This new edition of the classic game of strategic conquest features new units, sculpts, and updated rules.
Which can be found here:

I would imagine that AA50 will be selling for $200.00 in a year.
-
so who here has extra copies? if you do are you going to sell them? i have 1 unopened and i’m not sure if i will sell or keep.
-
I have two copies, one unopened. I’ve already added chips and Japanese flags from older versions, so I really only need it for possibly more Italians (I think there are plenty of cruisers) and for eventual replacement once I’ve worn my copy into dust.
I have no plans to sell it. It’s for playing.

Some people are crazy! This is already selling on BGG and ebay for over $300!!
WOTC is crazy for not re-printing the game.
“If you are listening! Ok, you scared us and made your point, re-print the game and those of us who don’t have one will buy, those of us who do, will buy another… just re-print already!”
-
“But add some new territories and rules, and maybe a blockhouse unit, then we who have the first print will buy it too.”
-
Is there any truth to the rumor I have heard that WOTC is going to do another run of AA50?

Sorry to double post :|
But I just found this news on a CONFIRMED RE-RELEASE of AA50
