    @knp7765:

    Those colors look to me like Red (upper left), Brown (upper right), Pink (lower left) and Yellow (lower right).

    The one in the upper right, is that supposed to be the burnt orange of OOB pieces? It looks way too dark to me. It looks brown, almost Italian brown. I hope you get that color right before production because I was really wanting to use your pieces with the OOB pieces.

    Also, the one in the lower left, is that supposed to be light orange? Because it looks pink to me.

    Your color perception might be off a little bit, because they are very close to what they are labeled as.

    That is why we verify the colors in hand, pictures are deceiving when it comes to color on a computer screen.

  • @Variable:

    @Pacific:

    Also, is there a way to add the light orange to an existing order? I already preordered a couple of sets and would like to add this color too.

    Just place a new order. During checkout, use the notes section to request it be added to your previous pre-order and provide the order number.

    Excellent!!  Will do!  And coach, thank you for providing such nice pieces!

    Also, the carriers next to the OOB orange and OOB red are WOTC pieces for color verification. The other two are HBG colors.

    Sorry all, I have the name of the 4th color wrong. It really is more of a rose color (pinkish), not orange. For those that bought our painted pieces back in the day, it matches the light rose of the old Thai pieces. Hope I didn’t cause too much confusion! We’ll get the name corrected to actual on the site soon.

    Looked like Orange Creamsicle to me, but you have them in hand so I would defer.

  • I saw, that you guys have plans on shapeways for minor and major factories… look pretty sweet and those markers that came with 1940 really need replacement… are you also planning on producing and selling those “directly”?
    (and how about air and naval bases?)  :wink:

    So if I already placed my order when it still said “Light Orange”, when they come out I will still get the new rose color, right? Rose/pink is fine with me. I wasn’t that particular on what the new color was, I just wanted my sets in whatever new color you chose.
    I guess what I’m asking is since my order said “Light Orange”, it won’t be cancelled will it?

    No worries here. Just a wording change on the site. The color you see is the color it is. This will not affect your order at all.

    I was just checking out the pics for the expansion set and noticed the gun barrel on the Type 97 medium tank. If you are planning on the later war version, then the gun barrel is wrong. The rest of the tank looks right, but the gun barrel is too short. The earlier models had a short barreled 57mm gun which looks like what you have. The later war versions were equipped with a long barreled high-velocity 47mm gun.
    I have 1/35 scale models of both versions. The later model is on the left, the early model on the right. Check out the difference in the gun barrels.

    So no one else notices the gun barrel on the Type 97 tank?

    The difference is quite apparent, as you have shown. But what is your point exactly?

    Do you have a preference for one or the other?

  • Customizer

    My point is that if HBG intends to make the later version of the tank, it should have the correct gun barrel. The later version had a longer gun barrel and was configured a little differently.

    Oh, okay.

    Did they say they meant to make the late-war version?

  • Customizer

    Well, the body of their tank looks like the late war version to me. The earlier models have this ring around the commander’s cupola for mounting a machine gun. If you have seen the Type 97 tanks from the game Singapore 1942, they have that ring. They removed that ring on the late war models and HBG’s doesn’t have it either.
    Also, I think the term “Shinhoto” refers to the later model with the 47mm long barreled gun.

    “Coach” and/or the wonderful folks from HBG,

    ––Forgive me if I missed it,…but I didn’t find an answer. I’m also very interested in the Major and Minor Factories. And especially so about any Airbase and Naval base pieces your fine company might make. I realize that you can’t do everything at once,….and you have many projects in the works,…but IMHO some Airbase and Naval base pieces would be something EVERY A&A gamer could use in ANY game. Is there any projected future date to have these necesary pieces made? Please “Coach”, save us from the cardboard cr*p. Thanks for listening.

    @Pacific:

    HBG already makes them:

    Yes and those are MUCH better than the cardboard from the game… I still have many to replace.

    But I think they were talking about plastic pieces that look like facilities, not flat acrylic that only represents its facility by the wording and image on it.

    ––I am already aware of the small, flat “tokens” that HBG makes. I was inquiring about an actual 3-dimensional piece in between the size of the cardboard “airbases” that come in the A&A-Guadalcanal game and these small, flat “tokens”.
    As I just said,….they don’t have to be large, possibly the size of a halftrack….
    but 3-dimensional pieces would be a tremendous improvement over the flat “tokens”
    ,….whether they are cardboard, or acrillic.
