The Germans have no destroyer present, therefore the defending air units can not hit the sub, and of course the sub can never hit planes. Think of it in terms of the combined arms rule, air units can only hit subs if they are combined with at least 1 participating destroyer, the difference with this particular combined arms is that it works while attacking and defending. In the scenario that you described, the sub would destroy the remaining transport without rolling and the defending fighters can do nothing.
Little and quick question about Scrambles
-
so I read in the rules:
Scramble: You can move air units defending on an island (Note that United Kingdom is not an island) that has an operative air base to the surrounding sea zone to participate in the defense of that sea zone.
My interpretation is that then, like they point out that UK isn’t an island, you can attack ships next to Uk and Uk can’t send scrambles to help them
Just as Gibraltar isn’t an island then the Uk can’t scramble the fighter there?
I read on other topics about scrambling the Gibraltar ftr to help the destroyer but then that’s not possible according to the rules?
Or did I just not understand…

In the alpha 2 setup the rules for scrambling have changed to any costal or island territory with am airbase can scramble unto 3 planes.

Can you point me out where I can see these rules changes please ?
