Well I bought some pieces from HBG. Bought more than I needed but thats mostly because I love the ottoman color of troops haha.
Pieces compatibility

I was looking forward to buy pieces of AA 1914 from HBG (I don’t own the game)
I was wondering if the chips fit with the one from 1940 2nd edition
Are the roundels the same size?
Infantry sculpt are the same size then other games?
And could somebody upload a picture of a dice from 1914 with one from 1940 to see the size difference? Thanks :)

they unfortunately do not
Are the roundels the same size?
Yes
Infantry sculpt are the same size then other games?
Roughly yes
And could somebody upload a picture of a dice from 1914 with one from 1940 to see the size difference?
I dont have a picture but I know that 1914’s dice are 12mm while other AA games are 16mm

Thanks
I read somewhere people complaining about the dice saying they were too small and felt cheap. -
I like the dice being small- I already have a ton of larger dice from the other games. I have found that the 36 small dice work well and you can use the smaller boxes to roll in no problem.
The chips are compatible with AA 1942 2nd edition, but they are different colors.
-
I also like the small dice. They are pretty useful when battles have large numbers of units. After a game of 1914 the normal size dice start to feel too large and “clunky”.
-
Yes, hope they make the dice in different colours next time.

The 1914 troop sculpts tend to be a little taller than the WWII ones. They’re about the size of the ANZAC infantry from Pacific 1940 2nd ed. I posted a few side-by-side pictures over here:

I took the pictures mainly to compare the colours, but you can get an idea from them of how the sizes compare too.

Hold on - the chips don’t stack with the 1942 2nd Edition pieces?
That means there are 3 different incompatible sizes of chips doing the rounds. :?
-
1914 and 1942 2nd ed are the same chips just some different colors (the red is the same)

Yah, I use the gray/green for AH.
