I have the first edition, and don’t play with bids. And my brother and I always felt that the game was unbalanced. I am interested in the second edition and I saw the rules posted, but wondered: 1. Can someone post the set up for the board; and 2. Is there an Erata for 2nd edition yet?

Only Pacific 1940 is available for download at the wizards of the coast website. than you will need to go to harrisgamedesign.com and print off the recent rule changes called Alfa+2 and even then you would be without the Europe book not to mention the global rules on its back pages. However, I will attach below a 2 part document that I created through cut, paste and type which contains all the rules for both 1940 editions and includes all the modifications by Larry Harris and his team of play testers. I also added some charts that make it a good 1 reference handbook. It looks best on a Mac while a PC translation will be a little messy. Enjoy.

according to the erratta, phili should have a naval and air base, and new zealand should not have a industrial complex, and the IC in australia should be a minor one.

i did not know these things till i read them here, and it was tough to convince the guys i play with that this is how it was supposed to be, but after we started playing with these changes, it actually worked out well.

Ok, help me with this one fellows. What do you mean by ERRATTA?  I will have a tough time convincing my brother this is true, as our rules do not say that, and are there other things that this ERRATA has that are different from the rules that came with the game?

First, great to see this forum. I am relatively new player and love it. I am learning a lot.

I am confused reading a lot of the Japanese strats that refer to taking the Phil. and that there is a naval base there. According to my rules there is no naval base there. So are folks building one? What are the preferred moves for attacking ANZAC? And when?
