      @coachofmany:

      http://www.shapeways.com/shops/historicalboardgaming

      We made 3 sizes of factories that can be printed and painted.

      yes, I saw those and that’s the reason I asked  :wink:, the thing is, 3d-printer shops aren’t that etablished in Europe (or at least the parts I come from), that’s the reason I asked whether you plan on producing and selling them as pieces. Thanks for the answer, which I guess is a no.

      Would leave the question about the sculpts for the naval and airbaises? :roll:

      thanks for the answers

      @wittmann:

      I am afraid that until Russia or the US join the war, they cannot land air units or move ground units into another nation. They have to be at war.

      yes, Russia and US can not move out, but how about UK units moving in? The rules only specifiy, that territories from enemys which are not at war are considered neutral instead of hostile. I found nothing about neutral or friendly.

      @wittmann:

      Subs do not stop naval movement( sea zones remain friendly) as you said. However, a Transport unaccompanied by a warship cannot unload in a hex with an enemy Sub.

      but it can load?

      which game are you talking about?

      probably 1914  :wink:, because of Austria, Russian revolution, etc.

    • RE: Axis and Allies Europe 1940 2nd Edition ( AAE40.2) FAQ/question

      played yesterday and two questions came up, that I wasn’t completly sure about.

      -Even if a power (e.g. Russia) isn’t at war, is it friendly or neutral to the other ones “on its side” (e.g. UK)? My understanding is, that it’s considered friendly and e.g. UK Bombers could land in Russian territories, even if Russia is still not at war and neutral for the Axis.

      -enemy submarines let sea zones still be friendly: can transports load and unload without restrictions? (from what I found in the rulebook, that’s the way, but I think I read somewhere something else, for the case that those transports aren’t accompanied by warships)

    • RE: Game Aids Europe 1940 2nd Edition

      @mods: thanks for the sticky

      -> realized, that the unit colour on the german unit reference chart is rather hard to see… I’ll see what I can do about it

      @JamesAleman:

      They look nice, USA political card mentions movement restrictions in Atlantic, Are there some in the Pacific as well?

      Those cards are for 40Europe… 40Global 2nd Edition will follow (probably in August), the cards for 40pazific are on the Pazific 1940 board.

      If it’s a question about the rules… I haven’t played global yet (got to play first europe and pazific a couple of times and have some of my friends played those enough times), so I’ll leave that to answer to someone else

      @Tall:

      Spirou,

      ––I would just like to extend my thanks to you for you time and efforts in producing all of these “game aids” to people for no charge. I will definitely print them out and use them in the near future. Thanks again and don’t forget to “duck” whenever the artillery fires. (g)

      “Tall Paul”

      Thanks, updates will follow and if you find anything that’s wrong or could be improved, please let me know

    • RE: Game Aids Europe 1940 2nd Edition

      -> production charts updated and individualized for the 6 nations

      -> graphics of political situation charts will be updated some point this summer (comparable to the pazific ones, which I think are much better)
      -> same goes for national objectives
      -> national income chart will be enlarged to A4, since A5 doesn’t provide enought room

    • RE: UK opening move - factory in India?

      @empulliam:

      @Spirou can Japan take India on round 2? If the plan works they won’t have any ground forces within range, by then the factory would have been able to build tanks/fighters to defend

      if you follow the descriptions fo Uncrustable, they shouldn’t, and in the case Japan can take it, Russia should be able to take it back, since Japan will not have much Units left in India to defend it.
      The other question is, whether Russia is going to miss all the units in Europe… but like written before KGF vs KJF

      It’s allready rather an older topic, but I’d translate subscribe with “abonnieren”, depending for what “subscribe” is used, but I guess it’s something like “subscribe to the newsletter”

    • Pazific 1940 2nd Edition Charts and Aids

      You can download the charts here: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/5usztn4d19ocl/Axis_and_Allies_1940_Pazific_2nd

      set includes:

      • 5 national unit reference charts (size A6)
      • 5 national political situation charts (size A6)
      • National Production Chart (two versions: one size A5 (54IPC) & one size A6 (104IPC))
      • National Objectives Chart (size A5)

      -> I’m thankfull for any critics, hints for errors, remarques, …
      -> visually allready quiet a bit better then the Europe ones, but like written just above: any suggestions for improvements and so on: please write
      -> Size of the charts is intentionally rather small, so thy don’t take too much space on the gaming table
      -> I suggest putting the unit reference charts and the political situation charts back on back, but that was just my idea :wink:

      Hope someone has any use for the work.

      I saw, that you guys have plans on shapeways for minor and major factories… look pretty sweet and those markers that came with 1940 really need replacement… are you also planning on producing and selling those “directly”?
      (and how about air and naval bases?)  :wink:

    • Game Aids Europe 1940 2nd Edition

      Since unfortunatly Bob_A_Nickelson hasn’t updated his aides and there are neither some from 94chanuck nor Minor Threat, I decided to do some myself.

      I was inspired and guided by the great work those three do, my work isn’t as great (imo), but it should fullfill it’s function.

      If anyone is interested, you can download the material here: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/lq4jl750b3kov/Axis_and_Allies_1940_Europe_2nd

      The material includes:

      • chart with the national objectives (size: A5)
      • chart to keep track of the national incomes (size: A4)
      • 6 national political situation charts, including Order of Play and Turn Sequence (size: A6)
      • 6 unit reference chart, including short describtion of specialties of the units and units shape for specific nation (size: A6) (for germany there are two versions: one with the units original colour and one where the units are black, so their shape can be seen better)

      -> the national political situation chart and the unit reference chart can be put back on back
      -> charts for 1940 Global 2nd will follow at some point
      -> other grafical improvements might come to, I really just get into working with GIMP and my skill and knowledge are slowly improving

      If anyone finds any errors or has any suggestions for improvements, please post!

    • RE: Balance Issues?

      didn’t work out that bad, but next time I’ll probably try with each a fighter less for JAP and GER (or something comparable), maybe instead of some of the extra units for the Allies…

    • RE: UK opening move - factory in India?

      I used similiar strategies with the UK for a long time… but by now I think the money in India is wasted. Japan can take India, if it really wants to in the next two or three rounds. And the money you spend in India would be way better spend (imo) in Europe. But at the end it’s probably a question about kill Germany first or kill Japan first and which one you prefer.

      @Uncrustable “early russia pressure”, like what? In my experience Russia has enough problems with Germany without sending more then a minimum to the east?

    • RE: Paper IPC'S

      if you count the regular income from all nations together you come up to 149 IPCs. With the national Objectives you get an possible additional income of somewhat around 90 IPC at maximum. So if noone saves any money ever the maximum you’ll need at one point is somewhere around 240 IPCs. Now you might want to count in some savings and the possibility to change between the different denominations.
      I guess to be on the sure side you should have about 350 IPCs. How many of which denominations depends a bit on what you and your buddies prefer. Would you want to have more then 10 1-IPC-bills? Or do you change those anyway to a 5 or 10-IPC-bill? And so on :wink:

    • RE: Balance Issues?

      I’m going to play my first round of 41 tomorow (finally) with some friends who are totally new to A&A. I’ll try the 3 inf in Russia, the DD und Inf for the US…
      I’ll not try the pact, from my point of view this restrictes the possibilities and I bought the game to have an easy A&A version, I don’t want to explain more rules then necessary. For an equal reason, the hope for a short A&A version, I’m also thinking about trying less Axis-units instead of more Allies-inf, like it is proposed by different players on the HGD-Board… has anyone experience with either setup-change? Does it change the game-length, and if yes, in what way?

      I usually try to get a group of 5, but usually we are just 4 people, works very good to, then Russia and GB play the US together.
      With one on one I just think there’s a great part of the game missing (the discussions, deliberations and so on), but on the other hand it’s faster and you can realy concentrate on your own strategy
