Just so you know @anhy123 , you can get scrappy games on ebay every once in a while for low prices. You can also buy individual pieces. Try boardgamegeek if ebay isn’t showing you what you want.

RE: Why is fortress America so expensive?
Ok thanks. I found one on ebay that looked ok. I can always buy another, or something for parts.

RE: 1942 Second edition House Rules for a more interesting game.
Ok. That is a good idea with the d8. I have a D-day nut in my local group I should let him know about that.

RE: Updated Setup Cards Front/Back
I like the battle board. That was one of the things in 1942.2 that I did not like was that the gave you two stripsof cardboard instead of a battles board. I think that one looks good, I like the grey, I would have possibly done it in green if I were making one.

I love playtesting. My brothers hate playing anything but the original game, So, I have gotten used to playtesting alone and I enjoy it. I generally have to take notes to remember my changes though. By-the-way, if you have nay rules that you want playtested I would love to help. I play 1942.2 and occasionally revised edition, as well as Zombies and D-day.

You can also just write it out on a piece of paper. This works ok, but if you really want to play Axis and Allies a lot you need to buy a junker for the pieces.

Ok, that makes sense. I have been thinking about trying to write out a rulebook for different countries naval units, along with a naval event card deck. I think that I will mainly be focusing on the USAs’ and japans’ navies.

Why do your cruisers move more than your destroyers? Destroyers are the fastest ship in the game by far. I’m just confused. Some countries had that were cruisers were actually quite slower than their destroyers, and in some cases battleships.

I feel your pain. You might try a library if you want a color printer for free/cheap. But, it won’t look as nice. Those look great though!

Nice, did you have to print these and laminate them?

Ok thanks. I am new to the Axis and Allies online but I have been playing for a while. I’m trying to catch up since ya’ll are talking about stuff I don’t understand.

RE: Does anyone have tournament rules for 1942 2nd edition or revised?
Thank you. That is actually exactly what I wanted.

Does anyone have tournament rules for 1942 2nd edition or revised?
I was looking to schedule a tournament for my local AandA group. Do any of you have rules for either of those that could be played quickly in a tournament setting?
I would appreciate it if someone has links to rules for either of those games I can use. I have never played in a tournament, so I don’t know how they work. I assume it is timed, and has some other things to make gameplay faster. Thanks! -

Why is fortress America so expensive?
Does anyone know why Fortress America is so expensive? It seems like it was a popular game, and it even had a reprint 8 years ago, why is it in high demand? And, also, is it worth playing?

RE: 1942 Second edition House Rules for a more interesting game.
I am reading a book right now called ‘Sea Thunder’ and it seems that right at the end of the war the Americans and Japanese went crazy; welding AA emplacements anywhere they could get them, on destroyers, cruisers, and battleships. Also, subs had AA guns on deck, so why no AA defense?
-
RE: 1942 Second edition House Rules for a more interesting game.
All Japanese and American naval units (except subs) should have an extra AA capability after round three. Or maybe two. I’m not sure what that would look like though.

RE: 1942 Second edition House Rules for a more interesting game.
I think they should all have an AA ability with the exception of subs, because especially late in the war AA became put heavily on all ships.
