RE: A&A games for sale
First Edition, but I did get the corrected battle board and extra medium bombers that were offered by the WOTC after the initial print run.

A&A games for sale
To all:
I’m thinning out my game collection, and I’ve decided to part with most of my Axis and Allies games. Before I do the E-Bay or BGG marketplace thing, I thought I would see if any among this group was interested. I have the following:
D-Day $30
Pacific (original, not 1940) $25
1942 (still in shrink-wrap) $40
1940 Global (complete set) $100The D-Day game is missing one truck. Otherwise all the games are complete. If fact, all these games are in great condition having only been played a handful of times. I would prefer to sell 1940 Global as a set seeing as I’ve combined all the parts and pieces and would really rather not go through another long parts count.
I’ll leave these available here for a week and then I’ll probably go the E-Bay route.

RE: Where do I begin?
Thanks for the quick replies.
Didn’t I also see something about a problem with certain components in the OOB set-up (not enough tac bombers, wrong battlestrip, etc.)? Were these corrected in latter shipments or are they still an issue?
Thanks again!

Where do I begin?
Greetings!
I took some time off from the A&A world to dabble in some my other game collections. Back then, AA50 was the newest great thing, so I was eager to try out the latest incarnation known as 1940 Global. Toward that end, I have recently acquired a set of 1940 Europe and Pacific, and I thought I would peruse the message boards to check for errata, amendments, suggestions and what not.
Seems the A&A fandom has been busy. :-o
Without wading through approximately 2 million posts regarding the numerous permutations that have been suggested/adopted/flamed, is there ONE place that this poor soul can go and find any errata plus a reasonably functional and generally accepted version of the most current ruleset? (preferably in a pdf format)
Along this same line, are the Alpha 1,2, 3, 3+, etc variants that I’m seeing references to considered corrections/improvements to the original or are they simply alternate set-ups to add a little variety?
Thanks in advance,
Ogre

GENCON
I thought I might go to GENCON this year, but I’ve never been to one. Any tips or suggestions?

RE: Given KGF, where & how many ICs should J build
Keep in mind that SUM can be used for naval and acft builds…. no transports needed.
-
RE: Carrier and plane builds
Aircraft can be placed on new carriers in AA50 (page 22).

substituting “aaa” for “xxx”

RE: Offloading land units after failed seaborne invasion?
Good question! I would say that the transports cannot unload, but I cannot find a reference to back up that interpretation. It would certainly create an interesting situation if those units were then exposed to a naval counterattack.

RE: AA50 Rules Errata and Q+A
Kreighund,
I think this would be good item to add to the FAQ’s for official clarification. The OOB rulebook speaks only of defending warships, and not aircraft. I understood what they meant, but I can see how someone else could interpret this section differently.

RE: AA50 Rules Errata and Q+A
The rulebook isn’t worded very well on this point, but my understanding is that sea combat must be complete (and won) before any amphibious assault can occur. If defending fighters remain in the sea zone, then the only options for the attacker are to 1) withdraw or 2) continue the sea battle. If the attacker withdraws, all units (including the amphibious force) must withdraw.
Perhaps an “official” clarification would be helpful.

RE: Question on naval combat
The naval battle must be complete (and won) before the amphibious assault begins. If the Japanese choose to not complete the battle by clearing the fighters, then they must withdraw any remaining ships to include the transports. There can be no amphib. assault. Any remaining Allied fighters can then land on a friendly territory adjoining the sea zone.

RE: Modules for ABattlemap
I like the look, but I have one concern.
There several variations of this map floating around. Does everyone have to be using the same map to pass moves back and forth? What if one person I’m playing with has the old map, and another has the new one? Can Abattlemap handle both at the same time?
