No matter what type of food you like though… Its always A MILLION times better when you go to eat it in that country, and in most cases a fraction of the cost… However the airfare to get to whatever food you enjoy the most might be costly haha

RE: Jurassic Park..
What do you wait up for? the deletion of my next post?
What are the ==== going to do if they resurrect this thing anyways? Eat it, sell it, ride it? Give me a break, it’s extinct because it’s no good. We should use all of our man power and science to turn this planet back into a volcanic char world, with lava flows instead of rivers, deviod of life, because a billion years ago that’s what it was.
I can think of a few people who should be the first pushed into the rivers of magma.
I’d pay good money for a wooly mammoth jumbo burger! And hells yes I’d pay good money to ride one… Too much $hit to handle in owning one, literally…. So I guess that answers your questions…?

RE: Italy takes France with Germany's help
I always let Germany control all of France. Mainly for the reason that Germany will then have a Naval base in the Med right off the bat. If Italy needs any help in that department the Nazis can easily come to their aid.
As someone stated before, if Italy is able to take most of their National Objectives then they’re able to handle themselves nicely as long as America doesn’t come storming in guns blazing.

RE: Alpha+2 Setup Sheets
Very direct and easy to understand. I like it. I would recommend making a seperate sheet for all the major rule changes (IE highlight that no Major IC can be built on foreign soil, scrambling procedures, AA guns are no longer captured but destroyed etc.)

RE: Old photos of WW2
@ABWorsham:
If you look at the first German POW up close he’s smiling for the photo op. Probably tryed his best to befriend as many Allies as he could so he didn’t get shot!
My grandfather told me, that of all the people he encountered during WW2 it was the Germans that he liked best.
It reminds me of that scene in Saving Private Ryan where they decided to let that German solider go because he was pleading for his life and being friendly etc. Then the bastard found another troop division and killed one of the Americans… I’m sure things like that happend…

Jurassic Park..
YAHOO NEWS -
"TOKYO (AFP) – Japanese researchers will launch a project this year to resurrect the long-extinct mammoth by using cloning technology to bring the ancient pachyderm back to life in around five years time.
The researchers will try to revive the species by obtaining tissue this summer from the carcass of a mammoth preserved in a Russian research laboratory, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported.
“Preparations to realise this goal have been made,” Akira Iritani, leader of the team and a professor emeritus of Kyoto University, told the mass-circulation daily.
Under the plan, the nuclei of mammoth cells will be inserted into an elephant’s egg cell from which the nuclei have been removed, to create an embryo containing mammoth genes, the report said.
The embryo will then be inserted into an elephant’s uterus in the hope that the animal will eventually give birth to a baby mammoth.
The elephant is the closest modern relative of the mammoth, a huge woolly mammal believed to have died out with the last Ice Age.
Some mammoth remains still retain usable tissue samples, making it possible to recover cells for cloning, unlike dinosaurs, which disappeared around 65 million years ago and whose remains exist only as fossils
Researchers hope to achieve their aim within five to six years, the Yomiuri said.
The team, which has invited a Russian mammoth researcher and two US elephant experts to join the project, has established a technique to extract DNA from frozen cells, previously an obstacle to cloning attempts because of the damage cells sustained in the freezing process.
Another Japanese researcher, Teruhiko Wakayama of the Riken Centre for Developmental Biology, succeeded in 2008 in cloning a mouse from the cells of another that had been kept in temperatures similar to frozen ground for 16 years.
The scientists extracted a cell nucleus from an organ of a dead mouse and planted it into the egg of another mouse which was alive, leading to the birth of the cloned mouse.
Based on Wakayama’s techniques, Iritani’s team devised a method to extract the nuclei of mammoth eggs without damaging them.
But a successful cloning will also pose challenges for the team, Iritani warned.
“If a cloned embryo can be created, we need to discuss, before transplanting it into the womb, how to breed (the mammoth) and whether to display it to the public,” Iritani said.
“After the mammoth is born, we will examine its ecology and genes to study why the species became extinct and other factors.”
More than 80 percent of all mammoth finds have been dug up in the permafrost of the vast Sakha Republic in eastern Siberia.
Exactly why a majority of the huge creatures that once strode in large herds across Eurasia and North America died out towards the end of the last Ice Age has generated fiery debate.
Some experts hold that mammoths were hunted to extinction by the species that was to become the planet’s dominant predator – humans.
Others argue that climate change was more to blame, leaving a species adapted for frozen climes ill-equipped to cope with a warming world."
Pretty cool! Too bad baby T-Rexs can’t be brought back from the dead.

RE: Cool 3d printer for making axis and allies pieces….one at a time...for $1,500!
Thats pretty damn cool. Not that expensive either. I wonder how much refills for the plastic are?

RE: The "Bell-Fey" Manoeuvr
Hells no. Mistakes are part of the game, if the person isn’t able to learn off what they did wrong last time, then maybe it’s time for them to hang up their jeresy and quit before they start flipping tables in a fit of rage.
It’s funny though because if I spot something that my opponent forgot or I see is vulnerable my face lights up like a Christmas tree and I can’t stop looking at it hahaha, kinda gives it away… I need a better poker face.

RE: Played alpha+1 twice and it is still a giant turtlefest
So can you guys let me know when the beta is coming out so i can chop my balls off and test that one out too for ya.
So global sucks as it stands and I’ll play 50th anniversary until yall figure out how to make a decent game.
I have some suggestions. Screw carrier tilts bring it back to 14 with no tilt and a 1 attack, screw repairing at a naval base, screw 6 ipc tanks bring it back to 5, let people build major IC on foreign territories so the game can go somewhere,
the rest you guys can go figure out, but the game needs to not be a giant 17 hour turtlefest of doing nothing until america has too much stuff that the axis concedes.
Damn negative nancy. If you don’t enjoy it, don’t play it. No need to rant on here if you’ve got all the answers on how to fix it. Play however you want and be done with it. If you want a game that ends in an hour play Risk and stop your b!tching.

RE: Painted playing pieces
@Imperious:
I have decided to have a professionally painted set. My guy ED is a Master Painter of nearly 35 years.
But my issue is to wait till FMG pieces comes out and paint them, or just paint the OOB.
Id hate to get all these painted and have to start again and redo them when i get the FMG pieces.
hmmm….
I think i will split the difference. Paint FMG Italy and Germany, and also paint all the other nations using AA pieces.
FMG is doing USA after Germany, so perhaps i will paint USA last in the hopes of painting FMG US pieces instead of AA.
What would you do? Wait for quality or use what i got, or split the difference?
Anything painted makes the game more interesting in my opinion. I say have your guy paint the OOB pieces, then possibly sell them when the entire FMG pieces come out. I’m guessing it’ll be awhile until they have every country made, so you’ll be waiting awhile until you’ve got a painted set.

RE: Some good TV series to watch
@Imperious:
I liked it too, but the story went way too slow. its like they dragged out the action due to low budget. The whole series was like 6 episodes and to get to Atlanta could have been done by episode 2.
I hope they go with another season but with more episodes.
That show is good, I’m not a huge horror/zombie fan but I like that series. AMC announced there will be a season 2 with 13 episodes this time. All the original cast is on board for multiple seasons. Something to look forward to :-D

RE: Some good TV series to watch
I’ve heard good things about Big Bang Theory… You guys supported it so I got season 1, I like it. Sheldons character is awesome. Getting season two soon… Thanks for the advice :-D
This should keep me busy when I don’t have anything better to do!

RE: Where do you live?
@Bunnies:
Yaaay, I was the first ‘other’…. Land of Kimchi and KimJongIl… On the good side of course.
Gosu.
I make a mean bulgogi myself.
Soju and galbi aren’t a bad combo. Jaeyukdukbab is good too. I’d still rather have a T-bone and baked potato though :-D

RE: NBA season 2010-2011
Haven’t posted in here in awhile… Coming up on mid-season now… Hate to say it but the Spurs are looking good! Orlandos addition of Hedo, Richardson, Areanas and Clark has seemed to be working. Won 6 straight and beat the 2 best teams (Spurs and Boston). If Hedo shines then I think we’re going to be a huge threat…
Damn Miami has picked up some speed too…
I wish we could’ve picked up Blake Griffin and Chris Paul… I can always wish…

Generals/Heros
I’d like to play with the idea of added a General or ‘Hero’ to each country… Not giving them too much power but just to make things more interesting I guess… Any suggestions? Of course they cannot be bought again… Maybe raising the defence or attack of ground units…? This might’ve already been discussed before, if so a link to that thread would be appreciated. Thanks! :-D

What if….
Japan had stopped at Korea, maybe Manchuria… and Hitler had stopped and only taken some of Europe… My Japanese friend and I always look at the AA map and he wonders how different things would’ve been if Japan wasn’t so greedy pissing everyone off. I think he wishes Japan was the powerhouse it used to be
