      That’s a really nice article about Russia opening!

      For the W Russia stack, I love to vote for 1 more variance….destroy Germany Baltic Sea force gambit!  This hurt’s the Germany’s plan to rip the whole British Navy at 1st round.

      Hi Argothair,

      I found East Indies factory seem to help most at the initial momentum(I think the best time is R3, because R1build factory, R2 you get 4 infantries, and R3 you can bring them right to attack), because with that factory and transports you can push additional troops from this factory to India at the same time with other ground troops that are already in mainland.  For example, the two transports from mainland can bring 4 troops to land at Burma.  At the next round, this two transports can carry the troops from East Indies to attack India directly instead of going back to pick up troops that cannot be immediately brought to the fight.  I think this is the best moment.  After that there are some value, like keeping the East India shuck shuck going using 2 transports or use this to attack Africa, and but I think those are secondary in terms of importance.

      But your argument seems valid in terms of logistic, so my initial feeling might not be correct :-D.

      I bought all the global board games but never played as table top via face to face…:white_frowning_face: mostly playing via Triple A. about 10-15 games perhaps. I used to play a lot more 42 2E though. I guess 30-40 via Triple A and a few with friends in weekend.

      Recently I download Triple A (the latest stable version 2.5.22294) and keep encountering the following message "(No network connection?) Failed to get server properties java.net.UnknownHostException: raw.githubusercontent.com“ even though I have an internet connection. I tried to turn off all virus protection app without success. Might anyone be kind enough to show me what I possibly did wrong in setup?

      I used to play this version often some time ago… I might remember wrong but I think Germany is strong enough to take down Russia alone some times, just because Germany is so strong at the beginning and sometimes one less than average dice result would kill Russia early. It doesn’t mean Allies can’t hold but it’s tough the first 8 rounds for Allies. Once passed this threshold the chance of Allies victory improves over time typically…
