Those modifications completely change the game. Specifically, bombers with a 2 cost are so good that every country should make an all bomber buy and Russia, UK, and USA  will produce no IPC from round 2 forward. The game will be determined by whether Japan or us gets hit by SBR. Very likely Japan through bury.

While we are going with game modifications, why not make all units free with unlimited movement and 6 attack and defense? That would make things most simple.

I am especially interested in this simply because of how this will affect my use of it in the A&A tournament that I run.  Being that it is a timed event for the individual games, I am curious as to how the extra need for naval units will slow down the Allies in building up for their attack into Europe.

I’d say it can slow down the Allies from 1-3 turns. It really depends on how many naval and air units G has at the start of G2. It might be enough to sink the AC and 2 DDs that seems to be the regular UK buy for UK1, depending on where they are placed. It also depends if the US landed on Algeria on US1 or not and how Africa is going for the Allies.

I just started using the gametableonline site for my A&A fix. I’m loving it as it is the same program that was on the Gleemax boards at Wizards. Now I can play A&A whenever I desire, life is good.

Ezto, all the best players from flames-of-europe can play low luck.  When they’re ready to play with the big kids, they can come on down and play a REAL man.  Woman.  Small fuzzy creature from Alpha Centauri.  :-P.  I can understand the appeal of lowering the luck factor, but to me, luck is a vital part of the game.  You have to have, um, cojones, for lack of a better word.  Even when the odds are in your favor, there’s always an element of risk.

I prefer Revised to Classic, but I can see that classic has its points.  First, old dogs don’t like change.  Second, some people just prefer classic’s play style.  (Three dice for heavy bombers, that was the stuff . . .)

Europe for the GER player, was the most boring time experience ever! You prayed for the pizza to arrive.
