Hi there
I’m in :) I’m in Europe, just in case you were wondering about timezone.
Cheers! -
@Emanon Hello Emanon,
I am in FL USA, but retired and on line a lot. So the time difference should not matter much.
For my AA50 initial bid–16 for the Allies.
I am new to this format, so could you please set the game up?
-
@leemorrison new to TripleA, not AA50
-
I’ll need your email account for setting up the dice server.
It shows the rolls and can be set up to send a recap of the round. I’m pretty loose with redoing mistakes as Triple A isn’t the best system for playing. It can be done through “editing the files”
Example: Sometimes it won’t let you pick the specific plane casualty with regards to landing on a carrier (can become relevant for a typical 42 J1 opening).
In that case, send a mail/post and explain the problem, so the other player is aware that the game somehow screwed you…With regards to the game:
National Objectives?
Tech?
Dardanelles open/closed?
Escorts for Strategic Bombing Raids?Comment:
IMO, the NO’s are overpowered, so yes a massive bid for Allies is appropriate no matter who plays them.
Tech can really swing the game and make it completely unbalanced, but can be crazy fun as well…
Escorts can help mitigate “Green Skies” SBR strategy from the US.
Dardanelles were historically closed, gives the Axis a few more options but I don’t mind either way.If you’re familiar with Tabletop Simulator on Steam, there’s a really good AA50 mod there that allows us to play “live” and/or take turns over the internet.
Let me know what you think.

Hello Emanon – leemorrison1947@g.mail.com
TripleA play by forum works for me. I have been trying to get comfortable with it. This is a fun game, so corrections are no problem.
With regards to the game:
National Objectives? YES PLEASE
Tech? YES PLEASE, BUT NOT IMMEDIATELY,
Dardanelles open/closed? OPEN
Escorts for Strategic Bombing Raids? NOIf you’re familiar with Tabletop Simulator on Steam, there’s a really good AA50 mod there that allows us to play “live” and/or take turns over the internet.
NOT TECH SAVY, I WILL LOOK AT STEAM NEXT MONTH, BUT NO TIME TO LEARN NOWLet me know what you think. DO I WIN THE BID?

@leemorrison
It’s a bit uncharted territory for me as I’m somewhat new to AA50 (5 games in total) and haven’t played with tech before, but no time like the present to try it out, I guess ;)Regarding bid:
I have no clue what’s considered “fair” when tech is also in the game, but about 12-15 for allies seems reasonable with NO’s in play.
Am I to understand it as “You want to play Allies with +16 IPCs worth”, because in that case, I wouldn’t mind playing Allies +15.(Sorry if I don’t quite get the bidding system, our playgroup is a bit weird, we agree on a fair bid beforehand and then negotiate who wants to play who…)
Practical:
One more thing: I’ve registered your E-mail to the dice server. You’ll need to validate your email for that to progress.
After that, I’ll make a post pinging you and we’ll use that for the game going forward.
I’ll call it “AA50 Emanon Vs Lee Morrison” -

TECH CARRY OVERY TOKENS IS WHAT MAKES AA50 MORE FUN.
I HAVE ABOUT 50 -100 GAMES IN THIS FORMAT, BUT YOUR LOGIC IS VERY SOLID AND MAKES ME FEARFUL.Regarding bid:

THIS IS AN “AUCTION BID”, WHERE WE KEEP GOING LOWERE UNTIL THE OTHER SAYS – “YOU ARE THE ALLLIES, WHERE DO YOU WANT TO PLACE YOUR UNITS?”MY NEW BID IS 11

@leemorrison
Allies bid of 11 seems fair.
I’ve tested the play-by-forum function and it seems to be working fine. Although I had to uninstall and install a newer version of Triple A.
I’ve also read that the dice server may be blocking the mails entirely if you’re using Gmail - as you are. Let’s see if it works out, but you should definitely look in the spamfolder as well. -
FYI I tried to register for MARTI dice server with gmail this week and it no longer works. protonmail seems to work well.
