Poker in the front, Liquor in the rear…

Sorry, bad joke.
So…how’s everyone feel about this here game called Poker? I love it, and don’t get to play it enough. Must say that I’m also sick of Texas Hold 'Em since a tourney is almost on every channel. Try Indian poker. Everyone gets one card that they can’t look at. After the cards are dealt, on the count of three, everyone holds their card up to their forehead so all the others can see (you never see your own card). Then you bet on who has the highest card. Fun to breakout when people have gotten a few drinks down.

I keep seeing Texas Hold Em on ESPN. I really didnt think of it as a real sport. I guess it is now.

It isn’t that much fun. I prefer 5 card draw, myself. It’s faster which means I get my clothing back faster!

Hhmmm…. Poker.
Let’s see, I have about 800 regulation weight chips and a half dozen decks of cards. That is in addition to the boxes of old cheap plastic Hoyle chips I still have around here somewhere.
Angel and I both love playing cards. Fortunately so do several of our friends.
And we play a variety of variations of Poker. 5-card, 7-card, draw, stud, blind… and to keep it light the Jokers are usually in the deck, and the ladies often call a few wild cards in a given hand. Winner gets the deal, and dealer calls the game.
Of course to make Poker really enjoyable, you add additional components to the game. With one couple, we add shots for the lowest hand. With other couples, a strip poker variant where you still play with chips, but you have to purchase chips with clothing…
Ah yes… the joys of Poker (and with that last paragraph tying this to the original subject header, I better stop :-) )
