Question on IPC Middle East in Europe edition

add this to house rules maybe? i would if the russians in a group can take germns/hold the line then make germans better blitz capitals shouldnt b blitz though!

A Russian sub in North Sea would prevent Germany from taking 4 IPCs of the Archangelsk convoy in R1! (And of course never again!)
(If Germany has “bad” rolls in attacking North sea maybe even as compensation to save the UK Battleship on occasion!)
Simoultaneaously it allows:
1. Agressive Russian play in Scandinavian territories (1 Art from the cash advance placed as Art in Karelia; transport can load 2 Inf from Archangelsk in R1) - to take IPCs and annihilate the isolated German troops there as fast as possible - and be back in time to face the main German threat! (More money, more inf-build possible for defending Moscow!)
2. Speed up UK retaking its convoy zones to allow for faster development.

Just play regularly with Germany first, then USSR, then Great Britain, then the USA for the whole game. That pattern never changes.

By circled territories do you mean Stalingrad, Leningrad, and Moscow? If so, they are circle shapes because they are cities, however you play them just like the regular territories.

im pretty sure that fighters can defend against any planes during a SBR, bombers being escorted or not. as Mantlefan says, otherwise that would make no sense.

could always equalize it by taking away allies initial bid
that way, suppose they give the middle east to usa only. Then usa get’s 8 extra ipc’s a turn, but it will take awhile before 8 usa ipc’s can counter 12 german ipc’s attacking russia.
if they give some of it to the uk, it will take less time for the uk to help russia, but germany now get’s to take away money from uk when it takes that territory. If they give it to russia, then germany get’s to take directly from russia.
In any case, it will make the territories in the middle east key since they do a triple IPC swing instead of a double.

For the Allies to win, the Soviet counterattacks must be focused – and lucky! Build/borrow as many fighters as you can. Also I advise NOT strategic bombing. I cannot see how the high risk of aircraft loss is worth the gain of turning six German IPCs into ash. Gimme a break. Take out a couple of Wehrmacht infantry, and strafe & bomb Panzer divisions from the safety of a combined air-ground attack, and you can wipe out dozens of IPC value, with zero threat to your expensive air wings. Much better deal every time.

Meanwhile, the order of the day for the Yanks and Brits is to correctly manage the balance of transports, destroyers & troops they’ll need for D-Day. Simplify: Tan boats will haul tan troops, green will haul green. See if you can steal a forward fighter base, maybe best in Norway.
