Too bad for you that you chose to submerge because you kicked my ass in that battle and it could have been even worse if the sub had fought as well!
-
Coulda, shoulda, woulda. If I had the Sub fight, I probably would have got my butt kicked. Can’t 2nd quess the best decision. By fighting, according to the odds calculator, it only increased your losses by a few IPC’s. Wasn’t worth it. Hindsight is 20/20.

Well said!

I need to know if you submerge in SZ 10 and also your order of losses for Caucasus. You’re welcome to roll either or both battles yourself. This way, you can choose on which round to submerge and alter your order of losses based on hits made. For Caucasus, I’m taking the INF as first loss and the fighter second.
-
The Russian Sub in SZ10 will fight. I didn’t see that the German bomber in N.W. Europe could reach SZ10 until after I attacked SZ10 w/the US. Still getting used to this map vs. the Global map. In Caucasus, I had different plans for that territory after Russian Turn 1. After looking at how things turned out in Russia. Decided to do something different. I’ll chalk it up to learning a different version of A&A. :-( :x
In Caucasus, lose the Brit bomber first. Russian Inf 2nd.
I’ll let you roll the battle. Again, don’t want to deny you the pleasure. It seems like the person who rolls the battles gets bad luck. Maybe you’ll get back luck again like SZ53. Caucasus is hopeless but maybe in SZ10 I can at least kill the 2 Subs. :-P

If I had seen the bomber, I would have attacked SZ10 w/only 1 US DD.

Not that it matters. I’ll be dead after the 1st round.

Just in case you didn’t know, in this version AAA (anti-aircraft artillery) are useless against SBR (industrial complexes have their own integrated anti-aircraft for that) and can only fire at 3 planes each, and only to defend against standard attacks. They can also be taken as losses. Therefore placing your 2 AAA in Caucasus instead of Moscow (where they served no purpose this round) would have saved your British bomber.
-
You killed both subs AND the bomber AND kept a destroyer alive!  :-o
That’s what you get for attacking the US in Pearl Harbor and aligning yourself with the Japanese! Mess with the US and die like the rest!
-
For future reference, I don’t take any pleasure in rolling these battles so you can roll all of mine if you want! :-P
That’s exactly why I let you roll the dice. I learned a long time ago that my luck sucks when rolling dice. At this point, I may have you rolling my battles for the rest of the game. LOL!

Yes, I aware of this rule. I didn’t think putting any AA guns in Caucasus would make sense to try and save 1 bomber. The 2nd AA gun would have only allowed me to take a pot shot at the 1 German fighter. Not worth it in my opinion. To put 1 AA gun in Caucasus, could have ended up with me missing all AA shots and losing one of my AA guns. I’d rather have both AA guns in Moscow for the eventual Moscow battle, which will mean you will bring your entire airforce to the battle, allowing me to use all 6 AA shots against your aircraft.
As it was, I didn’t do too bad in Caucasus and Archangel as well. :-D
-
What I mean by this is that the bomber would have definitely been saved, because I wouldn’t have sent my planes against those odds. Don’t forget that AAA can be chosen as casualties. This means that to destroy your bomber without losing a plane, I would have had to score 4 hits (2 for the AAA chosen first, 1 for the INF and 1 for the bomber) before you score 2, while avoiding getting hit by your 4 AAA shots. Not likely to happen.
-
If you plug it into the odds calculator, you would have only lost 13 IPC’s worth of units. 1 FTR, 1 Inf. Definitely worth losing 1 Inf, 1 FTR vs. 1 Inf, 1 bomber. Especially considering that Britain most likely can’t rebuild it. I would have attacked. :-D
