Another book along these lines is Eric Norden’s alternate-history novel The Ultimate Solution, which ends with the Nazi-dominated half of the world about to initiate a nuclear exchange with the Japanese-dominated half of the world.

Yes that would be one scene, They had us patting down Christian for weapons. This version has it cut out, but the original version had it still in. Go figure.

The 30th Jan, and this event,is not an anniversary I forget: it is Al’s father’s birthday. He has always enjoyed its place as he  is  anti-monarchist and anti privilege, despite his (state funded) public and Oxford education. It is funny as his wife’s parents worked in the colonies after the war, so politically they do not see eye to eye!

It’s no coincidence.  Lucas used all kinds of sources for his designs.  If for example you watch the scenes in the movie The Enemy Below in which the crew of the American destroyer have gone to action stations, you’ll note some of them wearing historically accurate oversized helmets that look exactly like the ones worn by some of the Death Star technicians in Star Wars.

The last I heard the plane was going along the Potomac River, then veered into Manhatten.

Either you meant the Hudson River, or that was the longest “veer” in the history of flight.  :wink:

Thanks for clearing that up…but, well the true patriot needs no flag to wave, but stays in his country and helps when the cr*p is piling up ;). Of course, he/she can warn before, but from an artist i would be disappointed if that warning was not metaphorical or otherwise creative.

Though here in the US the “STARS” do things like…

Steven Spielberg digitally remove the weapons, from the government officials in their decontamination suits, when he rereleased “ET” a second time. I think it odd that he did that in an anti-gun move. The idea was that they had guns so they were ‘bad guys.’

The “Charlie’s Angels” movie was made with the ‘good girls’ not carrying guns. Yet they defeat the ‘bad guys’ carrying Uzzies, etc… The original Angels were packing heat.

Update - If you try this in the Hasbro Interactive computer game with the computer playing Great Britain - the game will freak out and give GB unlimited IPC’s.

The computer GB won’t even try to take it’s homeland back. It builds a factory in India. In the game I played, the computer tried to build 5 aircraft carriers, 250 fighters, and 5000 transports - but could only place 3 because it’s factory was in India. Weird bug!!!
