I have recently had a new business open in my town that does custom printing. He is a very nice guy and can get maps printed on vinyl and many different materials. He can also do other things as well like cards and player aids. His prices seem pretty good too. theonedesigner.com

Perfect map with the naval/air bases printed on it, that really safes space!
Young grasshopper, do you have seperate files only for the Europe and/or Pacific map?
The global file is too big for my computer to cut it by myself. (always ends with an fatal error) -

The global file is too big for my computer to cut it by myself. (always ends with an fatal error)Sorry, I don’t have a smaller file, maybe in the future when I learn more about publishing maps… my only suggestion is to try downloading it from a better computer, transfer it to a flash drive, take it to get printed, and cut it in half.

Hey Guys,
If you’re looking for a good place to get these maps printed, I would suggest BannerBuzz.ca.
I got one of IL’s maps done by them on a 3’ x 6’ vinyl sheet for $52.49 all in.
Quality was good and I got the map in less than a week (Shipped to Canada). From what I can tell the banners are made in India.
From their website it looks like they serve the U.S, Canada, UK, & Australia. -
Great map. We played on it last month (May 2015). We used the type of fabric used for large banners and that was OK. No wrinkles. But the only think about the map is that the colors were not bright…the map colors were a shade on the dark side. But very very playable.
-
lots of reasons for that, could be the printer, could be the material… just make sure the file doesn’t get altered from an outside computer, it could default all the colour profile settings from the computer that edits it.

yes i got my map in stirene for 85$ very great for the price thank yg

Looks great, and I’m convinced that styrene is the best material to use, do you agree? One thing I noticed different than mine, and that’s the small white border surrounding the map, I wonder if the printer cut it off on purpose.
-

Hey YG, is styrene a good material to put away somewhere? Meaning I can’t leave it out really so is it good to roll up and put it somewhere?
-

It’s the best to print on IMO, and when you’re done… you can make a big roll with it, but I would just slide it up right behind the couch or a large book shelf.

Thanks. I’m not getting the map yet, but I’m hoping to get it in the future. It’s a really nice map. :-D

I just read this thread after watching your youtube videos young grasshopper. I am going to try and get a vanilla print of the map on styrene. Thanks for the file.
So you’re working on a new map? Any details on that?
