In any version i played so far, so either OOB, Tournament or other versions its almost always surrender. At a certain point you just see that either a major combat goes heavy against you and you cant recover back in time or you just messed up and are 2 far out of position.

@AndrewAAGamer thank you, as always, I appreciate it, one group was always going to be unhappy but at least I don’t have to hear it every week now.

@tmartin if the sea battle fails and the Transports weren’t hit during the combat,
at the beginning of the next Round,as the attacker, you can choose to retreat the Transports. They can retreat one SZ from which they came into the battle . There might be 2 or 3 options , depending how many routes were taken to arrive at the SZ.

The units that were going to unload would still be on the Transports , of course .
It would be up to the other side to attack them on their Turn and try and sink them .

Japan not attacking round 1 also has a similar strategy. You can focus on china for a turn and if you plan on a sea-lion attack with germany and the german turn went well you might want to prevent the US from doing anything for a few rounds.

With Sea-lion as a viable alternative and Japan in striking position but not yet at war anzac and the UK have to be carefull while the US has to decide how to split its money if they spend all on europe to maby counter sea-lion or liberate fast then japan can really mess around.

Yes, it’s correct.  You can mobilize up to three units from the IC in the same turn that it’s upgraded, and up to ten units starting in the following turn.

I finished a global game yesterday. I was Ge and It, a friend was Ja, another was UK, ANZAC and FR and another China, US and SU.

Even though my Italian fleet was left alone and a I1 where I lost nothing and gained 5 territories, followed by another couple of good turns for the Axis the Allies won.

The moment the US and SU were at war the megafleet of the US moved to the most eastern territory of the SU and landed 10 land units there, while their bombers took care of the transports and small ships at the Japanese coast (and after that landed next to the land forces in the Soviet Far East). Yes, US bombers can take of from San Francisco, attack the Japanese Sea and land in Soviet Union. Japan had to pull its navy back and with that the game was over. No more expansion for Japan, a couple of relatively bad rolls from Germany and Soviets pumping out hordes of infantry and it was all over.

To balance things a bit more we are going to use the Italian Fix (we thought up that rule and then read in on here too) and use the Japanese extra NO of 10 IPC while not at war (except with China). I don’t think it will be enough so maybe we will even consider super subs for Germany, Warbonds for Italy or Super Factories (what’s the name?)for Japan.

Mind you, we used the new set up as described in Canucks post (less aircraft in the Pacific). The naval base in NSW is logical, but extremely powerful for ANZAC. They get both NO’s on turn 1 and can reach almost everywhere that’s important for them.
