Can I get an OOL for the bloodbath that is about to ensue in SZ97? I’m going to lose about 9 planes on average this turn (more with my luck)…. need to take some deep breaths and cross my fingers super hard :P.
I’d like to see your purchases, the other combat moves, the board as it sits, etc. Since it’s SUCH a complex battle, would it be ok if I gave you my OOL as the hits come up?
Just as one example, if the dice are so horrific for you in the first round that it looks like you’ll lose the battle or have to retreat, I’d save the carrier rather than tipping it, etc. 98% of battles are so straight-forward that any OOLs can just be taken care of all at once. But I like the experience to be as close to matching what would happen face-to-face as possible. And in those complex battles, I think the defender does a disservice to themselves by giving an OOL before it is needed.

No issues, that makes complete sense. I’m probably going to bail as soon as the carrier gets tipped, so totally understand. Though, if you have more than two hits left after round 1 I’m gonna be severely ticked. I just try to do as much ahead of time as possible because of my inconvenient schedule. I’m buying at least 1 bomber and 2 german subs in the med. Not going to let you keep Italy down without a tremendous fight. Those are the absolute best kind :).
In my exuberance I forgot to save the file before attacking. I got 7 hits in 97, you have one thing left. What shall it be? I bought 1 bomber, 2 subs, 1 tank, 1 mech, 7 inf, 3 art. Attacking normandy (2 tanks 1 mech) and yugo (4 tanks 4 inf). Your massive 97 stack saved Russia for a turn… :(.
Please leave the British Cruiser alive. I’d like a 50% chance to take out another German plane in Round 2. And I sacrificed a live chicken to the dice gods to make sure I get some fair dice on the defending rolls :wink:

Almost the EXACT opposite went down in my game against Hank13 - actually that’s why I didn’t do Tobruk “and” Taranto against you - it was my turn to be shell-shocked in that game. I was 99.4% to win at least one of those 2 battles and over 75% to win both. I. Got. Smoked. Uphill both ways in the snow from there, now – and it’s only a matter of time until Africa is one giant Italian colony… So blame the dice on him – the dice gods needed to make be whole again after that one.
