Chicago Rules for AA50 (1941 version)
-
OK, our FTF play group (yes, from the Chicago area) is finding the 1941 rules set to be somewhat limited in strategic options or can become a ‘crap shoot’ if you add the random OOB tech rules under the guise of different ‘strategic’ options.
Being from an AARe (Enhanced) background, we LOVE naval battles in the pacific. So a major idea was to enable a way to slow Godzilla (japan) without enabling King Kong (germany) to just overrunning Russia.
Attached is the most recent version of the Chicago Rules. The major modifications are changes to how China works. She’s a lot more like a ‘real country’ with an IC (mobile) and IPCs.
Feed back is welcomed and appreciated.
These rules can be used in conjunction with the Tech Via a Point system, discussed in thread:

Chicago rules variant 2.0-97.doc -
Let me add that I would be willing to play someone with these rules to try them out.
Here’s a game in the 12th round that was still in progress when I wrote it down after 2 days worth of game play.

for those who do not have battlemap (like my FTF friend I am playing against in this game), here is a word document that shows the game in progress.
We have since played another 2.5 rounds, and the game is still ongoing (almost start of 15th round). I have to finish digitizing that one but promise to post it soon.

Not a bad gig… I would try this, but my group now REFUSES to play anything but Global… they equate it as a return to the dial-up days.

I understand. I wouldn’t go back to Revised even though the AARe (Enhanced) was the best house rules set ever for any A&A game (IMHO).
Global came out too soon after AA50, and we’re not tired of it yet.
(editted for a typo)

Here’s our game that is still underway in the later 15th round (not the 14th round as I previously posted)
