Thanks for the quick reply. I certainly understand the appeal of Global, unfortunately it’s just not an option for my regular gaming group.
Defense Question
-
I was reading through the manual earlier and reading up on the combat phase and I had a question about the Defensive rating of units. Reading through the combat phase instructions, if someone rolls a successful hit, you assign it to one of your defensive units and it goes to the casualty board and after they fire back the casualty board is cleared (or maybe it’s after the battle is over). Anyway, the point is, the way I read it, once a unit it hit and fires back, they are destroyed. If that’s so, what is the point of a defensive rating (such as the infantry’s rating of 2).
Just trying to clear this up before we get a game of Europe 1940 going.

A defence value of 2 just means that this unit can shoot back (before it is destroyed) with a hit/score of 2 or 1 from your dice.

Welcome, rabbit221!
A unit’s attack and defense ratings indicate which numbers on the die rolls score hits. For example, infantry, with an attack rating of 1 and a defense rating of 2, score hits when attacking on a 1 and score hits when defending on a 2 or less.
