Is an allied harbor in Norway as strong as I think it is?
This enables US forces to effectively be 2 turns away from Norway/Denmark/Western Germany – which feels huge.

Marching guys from Norway to Leningrad is a bit of a slog, but honestly the ability to land units in Denmark and put pressure on Germany that way, might be even more helpful to the USSR in the long run.

Also, does anyone do the more conventional “Classic” shuck-shuck, i.e. routing US forces through eastern Canada and then to the UK? IME it seems like “east US to Gibraltar” is always the way to go (although admittedly the Ai is probably putting way less pressure on London than an experienced Germany player might.)

I had mentioned it upthread, but bombing harbors to disrupt the allied naval supply lines might be one of the more underrated use-cases of tactical bombers; I don’t think I’ve seen the Ai ever try it, FWIW.

In Post Sea-Lion I usually shoot a German transport +1 armor onto the other side of Gibraltar.

Else… loading from Northern Italy works.  I have played it before where I’d always leave 1 german inf in Northern Italy for that purpose, and when the time came, load him up to get him over to north africa.

Alot of it is situational though… Egypt doesn’t always fall early.

Some naval units for the USSR have been unique to Russia since AA1942.  These aren’t new molds specifically for AAE1940, these are reused molds from AA1942 plus new molds for tactical bombers and mechanized infantry.

I don’t disagree with you regarding the necessity for unique russian units or the sad lack of Italian units. I just want to point out that it was AA1942 (the 25th anniversary release of A&A) that first featured the unique russian destroyer, cruiser and battleship.

It’s rather funny because I’ve been thinking the same exact thing as you. Before I knew the official setup, I though Germany would have close to 20 aircrafts… I managed to work on the setup too and, based on the strength of the airforces in Europe (remember that Germany has only 8 aircrafts), I removed even more aircrafts from the Pacific map than you did. Now Japan “only” has 12 aircrafts (this is enough IMO), US 4, India 1, China 1 and ANZAC 1.  In order to balance things IPC-wise, I had to remove 8 infantries in Russia along with a few other ones on the allied side. (Look on wikipedia: 5 infantries in Malaya is way too much when compared to the armies in Europe.) I’m gonna try this as soon as possible and see if it’s balanced (and fun…).

I don’t think there will be any Cdn Army units on the Pacific side.
Canada was totally KGF.

Good point…also mine…thats why i ask this question…lets wait…if japan doesn’t attack round 1 in global…maybe it will be the case…then the question is very interesting
