Video games A&A vs. A&A Iron Blitz

A50 is the best game out there as much as I love global.  Everything about the game is great.  1942.2 is good, but can’t even come close to A50 and has problems with the set up as the axis can easily overwhelm the allies within the first few turns.  They have come up with new rules and set ups to make the game more balance which is great but it still can’t compare to A50.  A50 like I said hands down for me is the best all around axis and allies game. 👍

But keep in mind the following exception:

If a Japanese industrial complex is built on a Chinese territory
and that territory is later recaptured by the Chinese or liberated
by another Allied power, the industrial complex is removed from the game.

(If you play 1st Ed. it is on page 9.)

Imperious Leader is right.  The rules of A&A have evolved over the years, but each game was designed to work with the rules that existed at the time.  You can always experiment with using the new rules on older games, but the result may not be balanced properly.

Greetings all,

Yesturday I read the rules for Axis and allies and I finished my first game today at the Allies (playing my brother who beat the living daylights outta me). Anyways, I am familiar with Diplomacy PBEM (www.redscape.com I’m Blitzkrieg) and I am interested in playing A&A online.

So… if anyone is willing to play a game with me, or four players if you please, I would love to go. I do not know, however, about opening bids (i’ve heard them mentioned as I fish around this site for info) and a couple other tid bits that I don’t yet comprend. The ideal situation would be 1 experianced player and me and 3 other newbies possibly so that we can be babied through a quick game to get the feel? I could trade dip lessons for A&A lessons :D.

Any takers?? Anyone?? We don’t have to play a game but I’m very interested in learning to play A&A PBEM.

SUD, why must you split the Atlantic Fleet? Brit will need to bring her fleet down to get equipment to Africa, bring the Yanks along if you need fleet defense (I’ve always faced a strong German AF so the fleet rarely splits). If the Brits go light on EQ, maybe mostly tanks and the Yanks do to you don’t strand excess equipment. Yeah for that round ya might not get as much stuff to norway but it’s a small price to pay for not needing another capital ship.
