Can A&A Europe and Pacific be played togethor as one gam

I came up with an idea for one on one wars between two powers using the Global 1940 map. Here are the instructions for two versions (Soviet Union vs US and Germany vs Japan):

Common rules:

All other powers are neutral. No pro-Axis or pro-Allied neutrals are involved on either side. Attacking true neutrals is allowed with the usual effects of them siding with the other enemy of the attacker. Only territory of the belligerents (with exceptions detailed below) may be crossed.

For TripleA, use edit mode to make all powers neutral, including pro-Axis and pro-Allies.

An optional rule is to make pro-Axis and pro-Allied territories also true neutrals.

One side wins when all the units of the other side have been destroyed and all the territory of the enemy has been conquered.

Japan vs Germany:

To make the game faster, Trans-Jordan and Egypt will be under Japanese control and Gibraltar is under German rule.

All starting units and income is the same (Japan’s starting IPCs are still 26 even with the addition of Egypt and Trans-Jordan and the income effects of these two territories will only start at turn 2).

For TripleA, edit mode can be done to change the territories to their correct owners.

Additionally, Germany’s 10 IPC national objectives that are achieved (Iron Ore and Soviet trading) are kept, and no other national objectives are changed.

Japan’s trade with the US 10 IPC national objective is also kept.

For TripleA, edit mode is necessary for the US to be recorrected to be neutral as the US automatically declares war on turn 3.

Soviet Union vs US:

All starting units and income are the same.

The Soviets control Denmark, and like above the income change only applies starting at turn 2.

The US does not get their “at war” national objectives. This means that the US will only ever get 52 IPCs per turn until the US conquered Soviet territory.

Edit mode is required to make the US neutral with the Axis because the US automatically declares war on them at turn 3 for TripleA.

Soviet national objectives are the same. Due to not fighting the Axis, the Soviets will not achieve any. This intentional.

Remember to use edit mode to make all relationships between powers neutral.

Here are two test games I played on TripleA (TripleA is required to access these files) for both of these ideas. Keep in mind that since these were tests, what was done there may be inconsistent with what I outlined here, which are the definitive and final versions of the rules. Keep in mind I also used edit mode to change unit buys and to correct movement, but no moves or purchases were illegal. They might also give you some ideas of strategies.

This video was mostly an experiment. It is largely unfinished, and is far from a complete introduction to the game - mostly a few random thoughts, and some experiments with presentation. No, i will not be doing anymore work on it or making changes. I may make more videos in the future based on what I learned making this one.

Many of the ideas in this thread are incorporated into my rules set.

National advantages. Each nation is unique. The Soviets receive more manpower points than any two other nations combined, allowing them to field substantially larger infantry forces than can any other nation. However, Soviet infantry receive a modest penalty to combat effectiveness.

Japan starts the game with a bonus to the effectiveness of its torpedo bombers, because Kates were very good planes. The Soviets’ Ilyushin Il-2 tech means its dive bombers are harder to shoot down than anyone else’s. The Germans are able to advance farther than any other nation in rocket and jet technology, though available British advances in jet technology are nothing to sneeze at!

Light and heavy tank. This rules set incorporates four different classes of tanks: light tanks, medium tanks, battle tanks, and heavy tanks. The game starts off with China unable to build tanks, Japan able to build light tanks, and the Soviets, Germans, British, and Americans able to build medium tanks. Soviet medium tanks are somewhat harder to kill than the others because they had the T-34. It is possible to upgrade the quality of one’s tanks over the course of the game. For example, a level 5 light tank has twice the firepower, and is twice as hard to kill, as a level 1 light tank.

Japan can upgrade its light tanks to medium tanks. The Soviets, British, and Americans can upgrade their medium tanks to battle tanks. The Germans can upgrade their medium tanks first to battle tanks, and then to heavy tanks. However, all this upgrading would require a substantial investment in scarce, valuable EUs. EUs can be used to research new technologies, to upgrade your nation’s income, to upgrade its rail network, or to build or upgrade minor production centers. The Japanese may want to stick with light tanks, the Soviets with medium tanks, and the Germans with battle tanks, in order to free up EUs for use elsewhere. (EUs cannot be used to directly purchase military units–that’s what production units are for!)

Terrain. This rules set’s terrain system is rather simple. Level 0 terrain means no defensive bonus, level 1 terrain means that for every ten hits the defender scores, a bonus hit is added. Terrain can be up to level 10.

Atomic bomb. EUs can be used to research nuclear technology. One your level of nuclear technology is sufficiently advanced, you can use EUs to build nuclear production facilities. Each such facility produces one nuclear bomb per turn. The United States can load its nuclear bombs onto strategic bombers, which must survive a dogfight for one round before they can deliver their lethal payload. Germany must also deliver its nuclear bombs in this manner–until, that is, it gets around to researching rockets level 15. At that point, it will be able to use ICBMs to deliver nuclear payloads to any target anywhere in the world. Fortunately for the Allies, Germany cannot research rockets level 15 until the 15th game round at the earliest. Even after Germany reaches this point, the Allies can always try to use strategic bombing raids to destroy Germany’s nuclear production facilities. Of course, by this point Germany’s jets will likely be very advanced, and equipped with air-to-air rockets. That will make strategic bombing raids against Germany difficult. On the other hand, the U.S.'s late game income is nearly double that of Germany.

WTF happened in WW3.

yah, with three diffrent idealogies competing for contol, that would be cool, but i was going for a game that was a little less black and white

leaders of arab countires are more often allied with western powers than with Islam, Russia and China are not on the best terms either, and in this game i am going to make it possible for Russia and China to have full scale war with each other. Also its not like the US, UK, and France are able to agree on eyerthing either. I think it is best if they are seperate powers.

sure their will still be too sides, NATO, headed by the US, and the Warsaw Pact, headed by the Soveits. but the alliances are not set.
In fact at the start of the game all countries should still be at peace. each power can either buy NATO or WARSAW Pact vicotry points with 10 IPCs, of course doing that lowers the effectiveness of their armies the next turn, and so should only do this when they are not expecting attack

THe US and USSR are the only countries that start out active, If  US/UK/France are attack all of those countries can become active, of course I am going to have diplomacy rolling that can weaken or change the NATO alliance

China, and India are different. You can gain control of them diplomaticly or you can attack them to makes them active. if you attack one, the other becomes contoled by your alliance

The diplomacy thing will be clearer later, I also might make diffrent national objectives for each contry so that when you have more than two players, diplomacy can be represented by people instead of dice rolls.
