Alternate Setups for G40 game

Has anyone posted a playable alternate setup? I’m talking a totally different setup and not add 1 unit here or there for balancing. Apologies if there’s a thread on this already.

There’s some in house rules. Oztea’s 41 is pretty good. Midnight Express has a 1939

There is also a 1942 setup for the global map. It was developed for tournament play, and endorsed by Larry Harris. I have played it several times I personally liked it, try it out.

Definitely check the house rules forum. Oztea’s '41 set up is awesome, but it can be overwhelming! There are a ton of options firs turn for every country.

We played G42 for our Game 95, and it went great. The setup is about 2 hours time savings to reach the same point in the G40 game, but it is completely different. No politics. Everyone at war. Germany on the defense. Many industrial complexes and bases removed so that choices are more tightly defined. Much more viable war in the Atlantic and med. Some say that this one is biased towards the Allies, which is partly due to the reduction in the total number of units and choices to start the game. Strongly recommended. Allies won.

I’ve only played Global 1940 about 5 times but i’m looking forward to play this setup! Lots of new options to try!
