  • I personally see that the game is over.  Japan has lost hold on both China and the Money Islands; the combined India+ANZAC+China will have no problem in preventing Japan from ever gaining any momentum.  On the European front, Germany has no chance of ever capturing Moscow and Italy has no chance of capturing Egypt.  More and more of their troops will be required to prevent a sustained allied invasion in Western Europe, Italy, or Scandinavia.  The US can dedicate it’s massive money to that front.  Along with Russia and UK, there will be about 140 PUs spent in Europe every turn.  That overwhelms the combined Italy + Germany budget of ~80 PUs.

    Let me know if you agree with this assessment.  No problem at all if you want to keep playing until the situation is perfectly clear.

    It is a little hard for me to concede with Germany almost at 65 IPCs and Japan having 5 capital ships.  Perhaps after next turn things will be more clear.

    I’m not really going for Moscow.  I have never won as the Axis be capturing Moscow.  It will be pretty clear what I’m doing after you see the board on Germany 5

    The way I see it I expect to get Malaya this turn and (hopefully) wont lose it again.  The US is about 2 or 3 turns away from replacing all their transports that Japan is about to sink and I don’t expect to lose mine anymore.  You didn’t move any war ships into the islands so I wont lose a piece and I don’t have to leave anything on the Philippines, it isn’t threatened.  In fact, I am probably not going to lose… any ships this turn for Japan.  Yes you’ll have the money for a short while.  But I keep all my pieces.

    Germany has 131 units on the board and (well) really none of them are threatened.  True I am NOT in position to take Russia.  But I am going to get… bigger.  And Bigger.  I have a lot of “depth” to the troops, the supply line goes back a long distance.  The Soviets and the British are not going to be able to slow Germany’s growth as least I don’t think so.  The Italians just have to keep the US off the Continent.

  • I am curious how you won as Axis if you never captured Moscow?  Buying so many infantry really tempts me to buy another couple rounds of fleet in the Pacific since I know that Germany is not going anywhere quickly.

    Just money and victory cities.  I can never capture Moscow.  I just starve them.

  • If the Americans go for the Philippines, order of my casualties (until ALL 10 or 11 of your subs are dead….) is as follows…

    all 6 of my subs…
    1 DD (I need one to find your subs)
    the cruiser…

    then start taking hits on the capital ships.  If I kill ALL your subs before my DD dies, kill both DDs before you take hits on the 5 capital ships.

    Scramble everything.  I am hitting you with 6 zeros and 3 tactical bombers vs your 4 P-51 Mustangs and the 2 B-17s.


  • I was going to go for Malaya (to keep Singapore) this turn, but then I saw all the subs you could hit my fleet.  I can’t afford to do it this turn.  But if my calculations are correct, the two big islands I took, it is impossible for you to retake them for at least two turns, so it seems like the better strategy.  I thought about this Japan turn all weekend.  I had way too many options.

  • I know I promised that I would use the armor and go to strip the CCCP of all their IPCs out to Vladivostok, but you had too many infantry and too many planes to “suicide” into them before they could get free.  I need to get up to like 20 armor to pull that off.  So in the mean time (while I build up), I’ll try for the lower victory city and force the UK to stop them.  You’ve got that massive stack, but it can’t go for “both” South and North.

    I love that tactic you are using with the mech inf in Africa.  That is like 3 IPCs a turn I can never take away from you, brilliant!  I’ll remember that the next time I play.
