@Panther thank you sir
Other Games
-
Would people be interested in other games on this forum and website? For instance, games like Samurai Swords (aka Shogun), Napoleon in Europe, and maybe even the old MB game master games like Conquest of the Empire and Fortress America.
(Right now the only other game I have is Samurai Swords).
-
As a person who plays tons of strategy board games (its a hobby…) I’d say I’d love a forum for “Other Games”.
-
ya, Id like a section like that, it would clear up the varient section
-
No, they’d best fit in their own website.
-
I’d like a section on “other games” as well. Or we could just keep including them in the General Discussions.
-
I was actually thinking along the lines of a whole new website for other games. However, I’m not sure how well it would take off. Other games seem to be very niche.
-
Well, if your up for the challenge, I can do my best (with limited web-dev knowledge) to help you out. Boardgaming is my biggest hobbie :)
-
In my opinion, I think you took the right approach with AxisandAllies.org :P You picked a game that had very few comprehensive websites about it, and it took off.
Let’s face it, there’s no point in being one in a thousand of the same websites, that’s a waste of both time and effort.
So, in short, go for it! :P (but don’t bother reinventing the wheel, is what I’m trying to say)
-
I think another board “Other Games” should be more than enough. :)
-
Once I get me content management stuff finished, setting up another website should be relatively simple except for the graphics.
What other good boardgame sites are there out on the web?
-
You asked for it…
Thats the site for the World Boardgamers Association, lots of links.
http://www.fortunecity.com/boozers/brewerytap/1/BoardGames.html
just a random site. Has some links. Not very good (like the majority of boardgame sites out there).
http://pages.infinit.net/mykeul/boardgame_links.htm
Another decent site of links
http://cyberboard.brainiac.com/index.html
PBEM site.
http://www.avalonhill.com/default.asp?x=welcome
Avalan hill’s site.
Those (and the pages they link to) cover pretty much all the good english version boardgaming sites. However, for every 1 English site, theres probably 2 or 3 German sites (Falk, Fin, help!)…
I’d really like to see a real high quality (like Axisandallies.org) Boardgaming site out there. I’d definately be interested in helping you out.

LOL! Risk 2210 A.D.?!? That sounds like just about the LAMEST thing I’ve ever heard of!
-
Its just risk with a fancy map and a few new bad rules.
-
Now I just need a good name.
-
Just a piece of advice. Axisandallies.org is so great because of it’s simplicity and great look. Keep that up :)
