RE: Basic strategy for each country in various situations (A3)
Well done ItIsILeClerc!
@joelv18 - I agree with knp… Not sure how your taking San Fran on Japan’s first turn.
The ACC will bring the planes as far as possible, then send them off with paratroopers to absorb hits.
Um… Paratroopers can only depart from an Air Base not Carriers. In past history Japan had I-400 submarines to carry planes to San Francisco but only 4 were made and all were captured and destroyed to prevent the USSR from gaining technology. But still I cannot follow your strategy unless you have some nonstandard House Rules that I am unaware of.
Sorry, I learned how to play with some crazy house rules, and am still trying to determine if the rules are real or not. Sorry about that!

RE: What is your most favourite AA Game ?
For me, this is a no brainer. 1940 global is the largest, longest, most intense a&a game out there. The sculpts are great, there are smaller powers that you don’t see in many a&a games, and it is never too predictable. I have had games where America is out of the war by turn 4, and times when the Germans take out the Soviet Union before France. There is nothing better.

Best game to introduce to new players
Friends,
A good buddy of mine and several of our friends our getting together in the next couple weeks. There will be six people, and I am not sure if I should try to teach them by putting them into groups to control a power with someone else, or if the only way they will learn is if they can play by themselves. However, my other and most important question is what game we should play. I own both 1940 global, and 1942, and I have access to 1941. All my friends are looking for something more complicated than risk, and I wonder if 1941 would be to easy for them. I have not played much of that game, so I am not sure what experienced players would think. Thanks everyone! -
RE: Best A&A game for a two player match
Best game for two players is 1942, by far. There are not too many controlling powers in this game, 3 allies, and 2 axis, creating shorter rounds, and overall, shorter playing time. It is especially good if you are just learning how to play, yet you want to get a good feel for Axis and Allies. It also is probably the easiest to play for two players, not including 1941, just because I feel that is too easy. Hope this helps!

RE: 1942 Global forum?
I really don’t understand all this “house rule” talk…
The 1942 setup is APPROVED BY LARRY HARRIS!!!
It is not a house rule. It is an official alternate setup. Therefore, it should get one of the following:
-
A Subforum under the G40 Board (Similar to the setups of AA50)
-
Its own forum (Similar to 1939)
-
A sticky
I get that ppl posting house rules in main game forums is a problem, and personally I think it should be better organized, but either way that discussion does not apply here.
Well said!

1940 GLOBAL Strategies By Power
Hello everyone!
I am a newer player of Axis and Allies, and this is my first time playing the 1940 edition of this great game. Does anyone have any good strategies for each power, even if they are somewhat basic?
Thanks!
