Yes, they can do that even if the powers are at war. The presence of a sub belonging to an enemy power does not block movement.

Does anyone else notice that they left the Italian roundel off of the provided casualty zone in Europe 1940?
A simple oversight, or a deliberate insult? Your thoughts?
LOL, it isn’t as bad as leaving the British flag off the boz cover
I don’t believe this was an error. It was probably omitted due to space. Yes I realize that there is technically enough space, but cramming it into the combat strip would require a reworking of the established style. Just my two cents.
Well this isn’t a problem for me.
When I play Italy I don’t lose a unit for the entire game. Kind of solves that issue ;)

I just had a look at both boxes of Europe and Pacific. The British flag appears 4 times on the cover of Pacific (United Kingdom, Dominion of India, New Zealand and Australia). I guess that makes it up for Europe

Well, they should’ve included it. If the freaking French roundel is on there, the Italian one should be. Italy does alot more than France over the course of a game.
Who cares?
Never used the casualty strip.

Same here. What’s the point? You can just put them off to the side or back in their bin.

By the rules, if you don’t use the battle board and casualty strip, the game doesn’t count.

That just seems like an entirely unnecessary formality. And it sure as hell counts to me, no matter what the rules say.

Holy crap, we’re rolling dice on the forums here WHILE NOT ACTUALLY USING REAL DICE… We’ve been doing it wrong! ALL OF OUR GAMES ARE NULL AND VOID!
As far as I understand, the Italian roundel will not be on the casualty zone in the 2nd edition, either. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers I guess.
I had no idea Italy wasn’t on the battlestrip and I’ve been told the battlestrip from Pacific is messed up somehow. I don’t know i’ve never bothered checking it out I’m still using my battleboard from Classic. Because it’s the only one worth a crap.
Anniversary had the best battleboard IMHO.
That’s the one I use…
I still don’t understand why they couldn’t just put it on there. I just picked up my 2nd edition and no Italy…
lol I noticed this too. Its a shame Italy gets no respect for its contribution to WWII. They weren’t even a power in the game until anniversary and even then they got no representation on the box. even in europe they only have a motorcycle guy in the corner and (i think) one tank? while France gets a tank, rifle-grenediers, degualle and a freaking fighter…i wouldnt be surprised if the french navy was somewhere there as well
also lol at “error” we all know there was some guy at WotC who made a conscious decision to omit them saying SCREW YOU ITALY
I don’t understand why there’s no white flag for France
